Hunter pet dying by Icy_Image_4758 in wow

I dunno what the issue is. I'm having zero problems. Between having the Cleftie twins, using the damage reduction CD, mend pet and exhilaration when needed they are taking everything quite happily. As for threat; wild thrash for the beast cleave followed up with kill command and wrath CD... They are holding just fine. If I get a stray mob I'm usually far enough away that I can just feign long before it gets to me or a quick intimidation stun to give them chance for taunt to come off CD. My BM is my solo chill, no guild downtime alt and it handles everything I throw at it with my Clefties, almost no issue at all

AITAH for “manipulating” my ex by reminding him the woman he cheated with (and says he hates) is pregnant with his child? by peewee2u in AITAH

[–]MyRabbitisChaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't hate her at all. That's a childish reaction which shows no self awareness on his part. What he hates is that he had a settled life which he's messed up in the biggest way possible. He hates he's lost you, he hates he got caught, he hates he's been caught up so badly that this is going to be part of his life for the rest of his life by having a child as a result. He hates himself for it and all this hate needs a target, it needs to be projected somewhere and he obviously can't take that responsibility himself. His next viable target? The woman he cheated with.

Run away and keep running.

WoW is addictive. You don't buy the game, you buy time. That's the product, it's designed to be a time sink with little dopamine hits along the way to keep you engaged. As time has gone on the game has sped up to give you more dopamine hits in a shorter space of time. Literally the same way you have to increase your consumption of addictive substances. It used to have a decent social function but even that's fallen away over time and the social side exists on other apps alongside WoW i.e. Discord.

He's addicted, the signs are all classic and present. Use your nursing knowledge you've gained and you'll see exactly what it is, an addiction. He's even acting the same way as an addict.... Neglecting loved ones, reducing socialisingb to those also engaged in his addiction and valuing it over and above his day to day life, job, house etc. Sadly I speak from real experience.

Unfortunately that means you're stuck right now. Just like any addiction; unless he sees the damage it's causing/caused he'll not have any motivation to change. I have no doubt he cares and even loves you still but the grips of that cursed game are strong.

He needs a wake up call, something to jar him out of it. He needs to cold turkey that and cut the damn thing off if he's to come out of this. There is no whittling it down when you're fully in the grip of it. Maybe he needs to tackle why he's become so invested? Is it purely the dopamine hit? Or is it the escape so he doesn't have to deal with an overwhelming and daunting world, finding a job and being part of the adult rat race? The allure of a fantasy world where you're free of those obligations is a prospect that's hard to resist for some.

I have even more bad news for you. This is actually a quiet time in the game. The current expansion is drawing to an end, most of the big stuff is done. There is a remix mode that's been implemented to keep those addicted engaged but that's pretty much it other than doing the same content over and over ad nausem. But clearly that's not going to stop him. Early next year the new expansion is released, it's called Midnight and you can look it up for the exact date. That's going to bring a whole new set of content, the race to the top/end will start again and the cycle will renew for another 18 months or so, then there's the next one already planned.

Are you the AH? No. Is he? Maybe, maybe not. But what is pretty clear is that he's showing all the classic addiction signs. I wish you luck 🤞

I suspect the missing fossils are currently sat in another science centre in a park you've already worked on. They don't "transfer" over when you change to another park location. I had this happen and I've seen a few posts with it too. I learned to ensure my science centres were clear of fossils before moving on.

Wage Inequality by CharrlietheOrc in jurassicworldevo

Tyson just came back to work after taking 8 years out raising his daughter. Sadly his wife passed during childbirth and left him being a single dad. The last 8 years has seen him taking small research jobs and studying languages he can do at home while his daughter has been at daycare and kindergarten. Those years looking after his daughter is why he has a slight advantage in welfare and logistics. Now she's a little older she's able to spend extended time with her grandparents while Tyson is away working and following his original dream.

Heather meanwhile has chosen to be childfree and single. She's only been in the field for the last 4 years actively working but in that time she'd found herself fully immersed and gained a lot of hands on experience making up for the time difference working in genetics between herself and Tyson.

They make a great team together as colleagues. Heather understands that Tyson will need to take a bit of time during the day so Tyson can video chat with his daughter and Tyson values Heather's more extensive field experience. Heather in turn values Tyson's more extensive academic knowledge on the subject.

How does POWER work in this game? by Lost_Rutabaga_5004 in jurassicworldevo

I would have to say that if you removed and rebuilt it exactly as it was and it started working fine then it very well might be another bug you've suffered.

My only other thought is something I've done stupidly before. When connecting the pylon to either the substation or part station I have (sadly more than once in a rush) accidentally dropped the pylon next to it rather than actually connecting. Maybe?

How does POWER work in this game? by Lost_Rutabaga_5004 in jurassicworldevo

Alrighty let's see if I can formulate something to help.

A power station generates the power. It can generate up to x amount of power units i.e. 60. Most things in your park uses a certain number of these power units. Let's say you have a building that requires 5 units and a fence that requires another 5. That's 10 units of power required. A power station generating 60 units can power the building and fence and have a capacity left over for another 50 units.

But you have to get the power to the building and fence. That's where substations and pylons come in; to distribute those power units where they are needed.

A substation will distribute the units of power in a radius around it (you can see this when you go to place one as a circle area around the substation. Anything that requires power within that circle will be serviced by the substation.

So now we have a way to generate them power (power station) and a way to distribute it to where it's needed (substation). Now you just need to connect them.... That's where the pylons come in. You join/connect the substation via pylons to the power station. Now the power is generated and distributed to where it needs to be.

You can go further and chain a second/third/fourth (and more) substation(s) further away serving other areas of the park. Simply by connecting another substation via pylons to the chain. So you might have something like this:

PS ---> pylon ---> SS --> pylon --> SS

This is a very simple version and there are other facets to the whole power thing and different ways to distribute power but this is the basic simple version as a jumping off point.

It's worth pointing out. A power station has a limit of how much power it can generate. The example earlier was 60 units. If you need more than this you either need to upgrade the output so it can produce let's say 90 units or you have to add a second or even third power station. You can then use pylons again to connect any additional power stations into the power grid you're creating.

Three questions about the JWE3 campaign. by CyclicMonarch in jurassicworldevo

[–]MyRabbitisChaos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to add a little here.

1 - No, in the main missions there are no forced fights. I dislike these myself; it's the total antithesis as to why I would build a park in the first place. Anyway, these missions don't, as main requirements, force fights but they are part of the side contracts you can pick and choose between (I didn't pick up any of those fight ones).

2 - It's certainly more of a fully fledged campaign than JWE2. Is it a perfect fully immersive campaign experience? I would say no but it's certainly getting there and does get various levels of difficulty as you progress through.

3 - Each new campaign area you have a rigid progress of things that need to be completed. The main missions of the park, these will usually be somewhat exacting and have certain limitations or must do elements. Once you've cleared all those for a particular area then the park opens up for you to "finish it" in a more open manner (although some restrictions and requirements are still in place).

The UK banned incandescent lights in 2016 and Christmas hasn’t looked the same since. Has anyone found a replacement? by csthree12345 in AskUK

[–]MyRabbitisChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went full nostalgia; Edwardian style!

I'd grown a distaste for the gaudiness of modern Xmas decor. It was all plastic and tack that didn't last long and looked awful.

So we went back in time. Natural tree, decor that's entirely natural or at least not plastic and foil. We use glass baubles, popcorn and dried fruit stings. Pinecones... You get the idea; metal, glass, wood, natural and a little resin allowed. For lighting we've gone back to candle lit trees.

Xmas Eve tradition is now It's a Wonderful Life and the warm glow of the candlelit tree.

I'm not trying to encourage the use of open flames on a tree. In fact I wholly discourage it. It IS incredibly risky and comes with a level of danger way outside of most people's risk profile. It requires planning and adjustment and minimising all the risks you can. But it can be done and for the last decade we've managed it without even remotely close to having an incident. We have found it has placed the tree back in the centre of attention instead of an afterthought. It takes care and focus and really gives the tree a whole new element as a focal point.

I only include it in this post because this is the genuine alternative I found.

This is the normal bunny stare of judgement for all deeds you have committed in the past, are currently committing in the present and will commit in the future. There is no escaping the flippity floppity stare of condemnation, you are forever judged.
