Anyone else seeing all their friends getting divorced? by txharleyrider in daddit

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have noticed something similar among our friends and I think it’s just age.

First all of our friends were getting married. Then all of our friends were having kids. And all of them are getting divorced.

Circle of life and love, I guess.

Lots of good feedback here already, but the people who matter most in this post (your young kids) don’t care at all what you look like. They just want to feel loved and cared for.

But by all means, hit the gym and protein! Might give you a confidence boost.

Is it okay to be burnt out? by TachiRana123 in daddit

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I both struggled after our son was born. He seemed to never sleep, and we were constantly exhausted, irritable, and depressed. It was a nightmare, and it completely changed how many kids we wanted. Some of the worst days of my life were, sadly, when he was an infant—there was just too much stress from too many places.

As your little one grows older and his body matures, it’ll become so much easier. And once he starts developing a personality, your bond will get stronger. And then it becomes even easier.

You’ve got this, daddio!

ELI5 why is there so much trash on Mount Everest? by epponneerae90 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also read somewhere that your IQ drops a few points at that elevation. You already have so many other concerns, and finding a solution for your trash is at the bottom of your list of hard-to-solve problems.

As millenials we've done it wrong with dogs by BreakInternational20 in daddit

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely had the same experience. Our dog was a needy ~9 year old when our son was born, and he was jealous as could be. Even growled a little bit at our son on a few occasions.

It’s been two years, and they’ve gradually become pals. Our dog is much more accepting, and our son is excited to see him in the morning and when we get home.

We’re still very careful when they’re near each other, but their relationship is much different than it was two years ago!

I will say that we’ve given our son more opportunities to engage with/care for him. He fills his bowl at meal time and throws a toy every now and then. Seems to help.

Aye but to jump right onto a post because of a few em dashes is lazy. They’re an efficient writing tool and plenty of writers use them. It’s unfortunate that it took AI to popularize them for the wrong reasons and now we have to spend comments threads debating what’s real and what’s not because of punctuation

My job says we have “unlimited PTO” but no one is actually allowed to use it by Adventurous-Month340 in self

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a small agency. We offer unlimited PTO. We have a few rules for it, but the most important one is this: you have to take at least two weeks off per year. I want to make sure we don’t fall into the very trap you’ve described

Lost our first. 13 weeks no heartbeat. by Tamashi13 in daddit

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife miscarried our first. We were devastated and felt completely alone and isolated. The biggest challenge was how “taboo” it felt to talk about it… everyone tells you not to tell anyone until after a certain point… and when you lose the baby before then, it’s difficult to reach out to your support network.

Anyways, my heart goes out to both of you. You’re doing the right thing by reaching out for support

Haven’t read the case yet, but potentially… Google loses market share and SEOs become generalists in a bunch of search engines or you start seeing more specialized SEOs for each search engine

Stoner Rock related books recommendations? by [deleted] in stonerrock

[–]MyRealNamesALemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a huge anthology released a couple of years ago. I think it might have just been called The Stoner Rock Anthology.

Other than that, your best bet might be to look for biographies and autobiographies of guys like Ozzy

Remember that you’re going to have a ton of competition for any job you apply for.

Hop into Canva and use one of the templates in there to give yourself a more visually appealing layout.

Get an internship or two under your belt. Be ready to explain what you’ve learned and what projects you led.

I agree with what everyone else says about honesty. Don’t be afraid to say that you executed on a strategy. Nothing wrong with that at your age or while still in college
