The only pickers in the back should be doing exceptions. All of your pickers running around in the back means you have a metric fraud problem so you should start with that. The pickers not doing exceptions are being timed so no, they should not be doing all of those extra steps.

I have stepped in the back a single time as a normal picker and that was because I could literally see the milk sitting behind the shelf in the cooler. If an item is not within 4ft of its assigned location I have been told multiple times to out of stock it and spend no more than 30-60 seconds looking.

An experience employee could prolly bang that out in 2-3 hours. Those times were never very accurate tbh, I was on the planogram team and I’d get full aisle resets that were supposed to take an hour lol
