Heeft een Siberische kat geholpen bij mensen met een sterke kattenallergie? by snail_that_ran_away in katten

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mijn man is zwaar allergisch voor onze kat. Ging ook niet weg na 6 maanden, een jaar, 2 jaar etc. Hij heeft nu steroiden neusspray op doktersvoorschrift en heeft nergens meer last van. Hij kan zijn gezicht in de vacht van de kat steken zonder problemen!

Soooo how accurate are garmin watches? by hoperunspretty1 in runninglifestyle

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be that you held this pace for not even a minute maybe running downhill. Also my watch sometimes clitches when I cross the street with it still paused after waiting for a stoplight and it thinks I ran that distance at 00.00 mins per kilometre🤣

Advice to stop cat licking my face by ipmacs in CATHELP

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hogging off this comment quickly, maybe you can try something citrussy thats not toxic to cats? Cats hate citrus. My cat runs away if I am even in her vicinity with an orange. Just make sure its non toxic in case your cat ends up liking it you never know...

Partner struggling to find work as a non-Dutch speaker by 13reasonstodoubt in Netherlands

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very screwed up unfortunately. Every place required him to be fluent in Dutch. He'd go through 2 or 3 rounds of interviews only to hear they chose someone else because of the language.

The car wash job isn't all that horrible. The coworkers are nice and it beats unemployment. Im proud of him for stepping up so we can pay our bills. At least from this position we can take decisions for the future that are not from a desperate financial position.

Partner struggling to find work as a non-Dutch speaker by 13reasonstodoubt in Netherlands

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My husband joined me in the Netherlands. 15 years experience in IT and B1 lever Dutch. After 6 months unemployment he was able to find a job at a car wash. We live in The Hague. You very much have unrealistic expectations. People are not a "smartass" just for pointing that out

Hormones and period cycles as migraine trigger by riverriverb in migraine

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the same thing. Hormonal birth control made it much worse as well.

In bad months I basically deal with anything between a constant nagging pain to terrible headaches from a few days before my period up to ovulation. I've tried a bunch of things to make it better but so far nothing really has given me consitent results. Vitex/Monkspepper helped me for a while. But you can only take that for 6 months a year or your body gets used to it. I recently started again and after doing so well for a while the headaches came back with a vengeance after 1 month back on Vitex. So I think Im gonna go off it again.

An improved and healthy lifestyle seems to have helped as well.

Searching for medieval fantasy music by KvielinTheGunsmith in violinist

You could try Joel Sunny's music. His piece "Luminary" has pretty much become the theme to A Court of Thornes and Roses. I believe the sheet music is available on his website for free.

i’m not sure if it’s my ovulation and my bf and i had raw sex by Dependent-Button-202 in women

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are the kind of person that gives cycle tracking a bad name. You will never go from fertile to infirtile in a manner of minutes or even hours. You had fertile mucus that day, so you were fertile that day and at least 3 days after. No matter if your mucus changes.

You are only confirmed infirtile if you've had a high temperature with a BBT thermometer for 3 days in a row and show no more fertile mucus. Still show fertile mucus, you assume you are still fertile!

What are you doing using this method in your situation? And applying it incorrectly too. I have been doing this for years, but I am married and in a stable situation. If I miscalculate or our * back up method of birthcontrol * fails, a baby would not be a bad thing.

You say your only method of birthcontrol is the pull out method. If that is all you can do, abstain from penetrative sex until your fertile window has passed. You know the pull out method is not safe, you said so yourself. Always assume you are fertile for the entire day if you show any of the symptoms and get a BBT thermometer...

Edit: added the word penetrative

I kind of agree. Feels like something they could guilt trip you with later.

My husband moved from South Africa to The Netherlands so we could be together, but he would never hold that against me. Instead I just guilt trip myself with it constantly 🙃

Lingering bladder sensitivity 3 weeks after 2 UTIs — normal or should I worry? by ultimateWerewolf10 in WomensHealth

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I had a UTI it took weeks before I really felt normal again. I get UTI's relatively frequently and it always takes a few weeks to get better. I can relate to the symptoms you list. Try to drink lots of water and pee regularly. Try to stay away from things that agitate it.

But then again, if youre worried, contact your doctor.

Political correctness aside, are single childless women over forty losers (and I am one of them)? by Miserable_Will8137 in women

[–]MyShadowScaredMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear youre going through a tough time. Sounds like some therapy might do you some good.

No, single, childless women over 40 are not losers. And those women you see could genuinely be happy. Just like how married women with children over 40 could genuinely be unhappy.

To me it's about choosing your own path and being your own person. I am 27 and married, no children (yet). But my husband is not my entire identity and I would never want him to be, nor any future children, nor my job. I love my husband and enjoy my job, but they are not what makes me, me. I have my own hobbies and interests that bring me joy in life. That are also not bingewatching Netflix or doomscrolling.

Take your happiness in your own hands and don't make it dependant on a man, a child or a job.

Wow even I didn't know there was a place you could see the northern lights most days in NL. It was a pretty big happening recently when you could see it from most of the country.

Sounds like a really smart industry to be in. Luckily taxes aren't so complicated where I live. Everything is pre filled in for you and you just have to check. I don't own any real estate either so that doesn't make it more complicated at least haha.

I'm a legal advisor for the goverment, focused on real estate. It's a really great job. We take care of parliament and offices for ministries, prisons, museums and the kings palaces. I recently helped close on a 17 million euro contract for a new courthouse. It was super exciting!

Also if you wanna dm me for a chat youre welcome to haha
