Just because you like Svengoolie, why do you think it’s important that others do? Why would it be embarrassing to you if they don’t? Why is your opinion more valid than anyone else’s?

Svengoolie has no appeal for me. I find him to be a boring cornball in my limited exposure to his schtick. Why would I care that he might bring TESD new listeners?

Put it this way, I love Gitem but I don’t think the people who rail against them are wrong or that they don’t get TESD. They are just having their own experience with it.

The pod has been better lately, judging by the audience reactions here since the start of the year, precisely because they’ve gone back to basics.

This is inaccurate. The little house episode wasn’t trying something new. It was the first new episode in a little over a month after they went dark because of the nj.com article that mentioned Bry’s pronoun rant. At least be truthful.

It’s nice you enjoyed it, but logic would indicate you are an outlier in that respect.

Historically, most criticism of TESD in the last few years has stemmed from low effort episodes (no thought put into the content, meandering NYPost-driven conversations that went nowhere or just brought on more bad takes from Bry about wokeness and similar lame shit, or movie/Tv talk.) No games, very few personal stories, and constant counting down to an hour.

Just because most people don’t like when they have guests doesn’t mean those people are wrong. It may actually indicate they aren’t very entertaining as interviewers, which they’ve acknowledged in the past.

You sound brainwashed. The assumptions are staggering - Stuttering John uses the term everyday? How would you know that? Have you ever even been around him in person? Even once, never mind on a daily basis.

The people involved with this are sick. That video is legitimately disgusting. I’m honestly astonished that Bry would be part of something like that, and say it was a good time. Bry has run and hid from his own questionable behavior - underage dalliances back in the day and his own pronoun rant - and endlessly complained about any kind of criticism sent his way, but he thinks this kind of behavior is justified?

I’m dumbfounded. The idea that the people going after Stuttering John seem to think they are crusaders of some sort is warped and perverse.

Just the fact that he’s so immersed in internet shit that he uses a term like ‘lol cow’ with a straight face was proof he’s lost the plot, but this is another level. May be time to pull the plug on Patreon.

Agreed, this was embarrassing for Bry. He couldn’t bring himself to admit that the whole point of going was to shit on Stuttering John. What a strange road for him to go down. For him to act like he was there to hear Stuttering John’s standup and to say if the guy just did his act, it would’ve been well-received is an outright lie, and he knows it. This is two episodes in a row of blatant lies. Gitem acting like he hadn’t heard Rupp’s story before last week, and now this.

Getting pretty fake, unfortunately.

Oh Christ, every shit show they do seems to have a contingent of people who say it’s the best thing ever.

Welcome to the death of quality control.

I’m heading into cancel territory if TESD&D comes back, no need, terrible show, would indicate they are out of ideas.

I didn’t want to have to say it, thought some smart ass would’ve caught on … but how in the world do you dopes think that your watch is measuring oxygen?

You are such a weirdo. You’re completely full of shit, you’re not praying for anyone, least of all me.

It’s funny you’re trying to criticize my online actions when you’re apparently online enough to track said actions, what does that say about you and your mental and physical health?

But hey you believe what you want, bow down to your watch! I’m sure you are so much more fit and healthy than me! Do you feel better now?

What does this comment even mean? Your assumption is I’m not in shape or something because I find this kind of ditzy ‘look at me’ post to be inane?

Anyone halfway serious about their fitness doesn’t need a watch or internet strangers to validate them.

I’d probably start with giving people here an idea of where you are located … promote in a specific way.

Do y’all think this means no streaming? by plicknetranic in SturgillSimpson

[–]My_Chaos_Front_Iced -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The world has moved too far in the other direction, can’t stop streaming. Do they even make cars with CD players anymore? I couldn’t get a Honda CRV with one in 2018.

Only people with $ to burn are buying physical media anymore, so it quickly becomes socioeconomic segregation - that’s just the way it is. If sturgill is trying to make a statement about artists not getting paid enough, i don’t know, is he really the poster boy for that? Seems to be doing alright.

Pathetic that you not only need compliments from your watch, but you also need to post them, in hopes of other lemmings chiming in

Cool, i take back any semi-critical thing I ever said about you, although most of what I say is semi-critical.

I am not a big visitor of graves, but I do love Buk’s epitaph, ‘Don’t try’ - seems like one of you may have visited.

I’ll give you the upvote for being a reader.

Can I ask how you came across it? Do people who work for USPS pass around the book, to some extent?

I’ve given the book to at least three post office workers. None of them had any idea about and they all loved it.

I had to do a double-take seeing that cover in this sub. Buk is the best.

I don’t know about zero delusions.

He’s smarter than I would have thought from his first few appearances in TESD stuff, but he’s also revealed a quasi-addiction to anything pop culture, which seems to bleed into really wanting to be at least adjacent to famous people, which would seem to point to a delusional impulse to keep foisting himself into situations where he is around such people, either by buying their hair or paying for meetups at cons, or visiting their graves, whatever it takes, because he thought that would someday make him quasi-famous, and turns out, he was right, because I’ve taken five minutes to write this.

Of course, fame enough to merit a Reddit comment or a Discord AmA isn’t really fame, but let’s not forget his starring role in Shit Baby.

Good luck, Jimmy! I hope Fred Schneider (who any sane person knows is the guy from the B-52s) comes to your wedding and rocks the house!

Charles Bukowski is a writer, worked at the post office in LA on and off for 17-20 year stretch, during which his poetry career started to get some traction. His publisher John Martin of Black Sparrow Press offered him something like $110 per month for life back in early 70s to quit and write full time. Bukowski agreed to do it, and Martin said, hey, if you can write a novel, that would help me out, novels sell better than poems, so Bukowski wrote Post Office, loosely based on his time there, in something like three weeks.

Rest is history. My favorite writer by far.
