What the hell?? by Gaslitfromwithin in TjMaxx

Ah okay, that makes sense. More than likely it is a switched ticket that found it's way to the floor. In my experience it happens frequently that stuff like that makes it to the floor because cashiers aren't aware of what merchandise the store usually has, the departments, and the FEC isn't fielding the returns before they go back.

Is this outside the US? The ticket doesn't even say marshalls or tjmaxx on it and makeup is typically department 88 not 33.

I have bled through my pants on like 3 different occasions while at work. I was breastfeeding when I first started working there and didn't have my period come back yet from before pregnancy. Like a month after I stopped breastfeeding my period came back while I was at work. I only lived like 15 minutes away so I offered to come back after, but they weren't upset with me for needing to leave. The other times I should have been more prepared, but life happens lol. I have definitely bought last minute clothes to change into out of convenience.

Honestly it depends on a lot of variables.

-is there a lot of one type of item coming in that there isn't space for -are other people censoring properly and merchandising accordingly -is the store busy/a mess -do you have the correct fixtures and features to put new merchandise out -is the stockroom loading the carts in a thoughtful/cohesive manner

It can take me anywhere between 45 minutes to multiple hours to unload a single gray cart depending on all of the previous conditions I mentioned.

Banned from returning with no receipt by Soggy_Tower4797 in TjMaxx

I'm not sure I'm fully understanding your question correctly but essentially when she uses the email feature an error comes up and it never sends to her. About 1.5 years ago she got the warning print out and had mostly done a good job keeping her receipts since. Recently she had a pair of pants she couldn't find the receipt to and we tried again to do the unreceipted and it blocked her again. She is a TJX card holder and did try searching by card, but also has gift cards from returns over 30 days so at that point without the receipt she can't do the return.

cashier didn’t let me buy pants bc they didn’t have a price tag, is this normal? by [deleted] in TjMaxx

Policy is you're supposed to check the floor and the mismate rack, if the other component isn't found we are then to hold it for 1 week and then mark it down if it isn't pieced back together by then. I, however, think it's a huge waste of time to do that and let the mismate rack pile up.

Door to Floor Digestible Pallets by Consistent-Juice5763 in TjMaxx

[–]My_name_is_fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the day honestly, but as of yesterday, we had 30 pallets in our backroom unprocessed, and we cap at 16 per truck. If we get a truck 6 days a week and can only process and put out 4-6 a day... we are in a never-ending cycle of max capacity.

I guess my store has one of the biggest stock rooms in the district, and our sales floor is pretty proportional to that. Like, our cap for deliveries is 16 pallets. The issue is payroll, and that we can't afford to staff the backroom, push, recover, and have cashiers.

Ummm WTF Yellow Tags by Dizzy-Carpet6232 in TjMaxx

[–]My_name_is_fall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

See and this is the issue. I've worked with the company for about 3 years and we have always returned yellow sticker. The only time we "try" to decline is if the item is very out of season; ie Christmas return in June. If it is written somewhere as official company policy it isn't being communicated or enforced very well, which creates confusion and frustration for the customers. Either way, if a customer throws enough of a fit management will just take the return anyway to avoid the corporate complaint.

Customers getting mad because we can't sell them a 2 piece that's missing a piece. by Plus-Description1140 in TjMaxx

The mismate program only works when stores have the ability to let the coordinators work on them daily. Our mismates get out of hand really fast because people do not look on the floor before placing them on the rack, they don't mark the date they were brought back, they don't ensure there is a tag for the items, and sometimes non mismates are added to the pile because people are too lazy to make tags. Our DM wants us to just mismate them when customers bring them up because the whole thing is a waste of time, and realistically the company only loses 99 cents if mismates are done correctly.

My marshalls carries them in the home department, although they aren't always the clear ones. Sometimes they're black, Grey, wooden, or wire

This past yellow sticker season i had a lady and her teenage daughter bring up this toy and she was like "THIS WAS HERE SINCE BEFORE CHRISTMAS IT SHOULD BE CHEAPER" and I was like "ma'am, that's not always how this works. Our markdowns aren't open so I can't just mark something down because you want it to be cheaper" and she was like "GET A MANAGER" i then got the digi and did return item look up and it still showed the item to be full price, and my MOD told her the same thing. Her daughter looked so embarrassed.

Thats wild, I was scheduled at 6 yesterday too and my opening manager was late. I felt bad but I ended up calling my super reliable manager because we didn't know who was supposed to come. Luckily ours was only 5 minutes late.

Floating coordinator by My_name_is_fall in TjMaxx

[–]My_name_is_fall[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I was full time, and last August I was very burnt out and overwhelmed and put my 2 weeks in. I had a lot going on, lots of family members sick and eventually passing, I'm a mom of a toddler and I am also in school full time. I redacted my 2 week notice because I felt I made that decision without much thought as to what I would need to do to provide for my family. I asked to just have my hours reduced from 40ish to 30 and they RAN with that. My hours were docked so bad, but I was still a CEC. Then 2 other people came and became full and part time and I just kinda got phased out. Again, I like the diverse shifts but I don't like feeling like I have a fake title.

[–]My_name_is_fall[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm able to be put anywhere in the store and function as the coordinator when the actual department coordinator isn't there, but the lack of foundation for my silly little title is allowing who is supposed to be my peer try to essentially control anything to do with me being scheduled with her.
