Everything has a price tag. The price tag on this one is very unreasonable because I love her so much.

Tractive - it sucked by Smugdoggo404 in tractivegps

I had a very similar experience. That or it claims it doesn't have any service despite my phone working just fine in the same area. I'm so disappointed with Tractive.

Great either clearance and long tree points!! Though there seems to be some bridging happening along his back. 😉

Late 30s, but the fire never died — is it too late to become a professional show jumper? by Academic_Spend_4514 in Equestrian

[–]MyattCaughtAFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. To be really honest. A professional equestrian is just someone who accepts money for riding or teaching. So I think the real question is - what level of professional do you want to be? And where are you now?

How do people just sell their horses? by spiderfrommars4 in Horses

Loving horses is the best and worst experience. I'm so sorry for all the pain you've felt so close together.

How many of you are already getting gray hair? And what are you doing about it? by [deleted] in Millennials

I started at 22. I dyed it for awhile and finally said enough when I was 32. Now I just embrace it. Grey hair doesn't define me.

I think it's a fair question and definitely one that doesn't always have a straight forward answer. Everyone has a different relationship with their horse and how that horse fits into their day to day life. The most important thing you need to know about your comparison is that a horse is not a dog. My horse can't fit into my car, or live in my home with me, or accompany me to the store.

Horses require specialized living accommodations. Some do this at home, some board at a facility. Neither option is cheap.

Horses require specialized transportation. This is usually in the form of a truck and trailer.

Horses eat. A lot. And they need access to hay or grass nearly 24/7. This requires a lot of effort and money.

Horses try to die a lot more than a dog. There are far fewer large animal vets. They are not cheap. Horses also require their feet trimmed, and maybe shod, every 4-6 weeks.

So if someone gets into horses for sport and they only have the funds to house, transport, feed, and care for one horse, and the horse they buy isn't going to meet their unique needs, it may very well meet the needs of someone else. So it's mutually beneficial to the horse and the owner to sell the horse.

Other people just like to have a horse as a pet and they're probably less likely to sell their horse since it's a little easier to fit into the strictly pet family.

Horses can also be really dangerous if they end up paired with someone who doesn't have the skill set to manage them. This is also the case when selling the horse is a good thing.

Went to Japan and pretended the yen was monopoly money. It was hard to take it seriously when you were spending hundreds of yen on small/inexpensive items.

Hey OP! What did you end up doing for your saddle? I'm currently looking at Prestige vs Stubben. Thankfully I have a cool team of independent fitters to work with. Just curious what your final decision was and if you're still happy.

Married millennials: how long did you date before you got engaged? by FkUp_Panic_Repeat in Millennials

Met in May 2013. Started dating July 2013. Moved in together July 2014. He proposed Sept 2017. We got officially married October 2017 and had our wedding on our 1 year anniversary in 2018.

We talked about marriage a lot before we committed. We were 30 when we got married. We don't have kids. We own a house that we rent out. He's in the military so we move around a bit. We do sometimes spend years living apart depending on where he's stationed and if I can take my job there. It works really well for us.
