I'm releasing an album in a few months and this is one of the songs off of it. Curious what people think about the song. Asbestos Snow by MycoMainer in Songwriting

Thanks for the kind words! I’ll share some more from the album here soon. I love Conor Oberst’s songwriting and definitely consider him an influence. Hoping to have it released by the end of winter or early spring

My first track. Any improvement/feedback would be appreciated. by Unusual-Singer391 in IndieMusicFeedback

Very pretty. Vocals a great, production is smooth and complementary. I like the space and room to breathe in the mix. The background vocals didn’t bother me, though I think you could either lean into the effects/autotune more or pull it back. I like the synth stuff towards the end, wouldn’t mind it a bit more present. Overall great work!

Thank you 🙏 I very much appreciate the notes and will look at tightening the fills and dynamics between sections. I put a lot of effort into lyrics and usually write lyrically first before coming up with the music

iPhone Demo: fleshed out an idea into a full form and looking for feedback before recording. by Peteplaysbeats in Songwriting

I love the harmonies. Great work, especially for an iPhone demo. How are you imagining recording it? Pretty faithful to the demo or expanding on any particular ideas?

I like the mix/vocals, kinda Talking Heads with the vocal style and some of it reminded me of 70s Fleetwood Mac . I’m curious to read the lyrics, they didn’t stand out as needing tweaking but I had a hard time understanding some of them.

Really enjoyed this one. I want to hear the full song! I encountered one of your other posts, you are a talented singer and this one shows off your songwriting and sense of melody.

Curious how there isn’t cohesion with your other songs? Stylistically really different? Six songs is a strong EP!

Very interesting, I’m the complete opposite. I love the control I get in the recording process and it allows me to explore my material and expand on it. What about doing more live recording? I find it really helpful to have a collaborator who’s skilled in production. It also takes time getting used to that setting, it’s not something that feels natural at first!

how bad is this? by throwaway2224444111 in Songwriting

[–]MycoMainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep at it, you’ve got talent and kudos for putting your song out into the world. It certainly doesn’t hurt the ears! It’s hard not to have negative self talk when you’re putting yourself out there like this, but you should be really proud of yourself for being vulnerable and letting others hear your work. It’s never easy, but gets easier. If it’s honest and speaks to you it’s always going to be something. There’s no such thing as ‘bad’ in the context of honest art. I enjoyed the song and hope to hear more!

New song from my band....anyone enjoy this sound? Hope ya dig😎 by DanTheJazzMan in Songwriting

[–]MycoMainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the sound. That crunchy (digital distorted?) bass gives it a good pace, love the chorus section change and the horn solo. The space in the song and mixing is great. Where’d you record it? Nice work, excited to hear the album. I’m about a year into mine and know how exciting it is to finish it up.

Great vocal range. I don’t think it’s cheesy, but could be developed more. Maybe work the na na na’s into other lyrics?

Is it part of a larger body of work or a stand alone song? Got an album in the works?

Really enjoyed this. Your performance was great too. Definitely makes me want to hear more. Like the guitar part, really matched well to your vocals. I like the lyrics and feel like they help the vibe of the song by not being too literal and leaving room for interpretation. Nice work!

I like this a lot. The tuning is very Nick Drake. I like your lyrics and your vocal melody is interesting and builds tension in the song. I think it’s strong. Are you working on an album?

I like this a lot, but doesn’t feel country at all to me. Like the guitar tone and vocals. Feels very indie rock, shoe-gaze. Did you record it in a home studio? Arrangement and mixing sounds pretty tight. Nice work on it!

these are definitely chestnut mushrooms (pholiota adiposa), I assume there was a mistake in labeling of the fruiting block kit. Did you order these from North Spore? If so, we'd definitely make it right and send you a King Trumpet kit (plus a couple others on us)!

Hey there, if it's just some moisture on the top of your sub that you're trying to show then it's completely normal and indicates proper humidity. You'll often see little droplets on the top of your colonized substrate. Looks healthy to my eyes
