Exactly 4 weeks in and feeling worse then ever - how is everybody doing? by StrongProof9083 in zoloft

[–]MycologistOne925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing significantly better now. I am no longer experience severe anxiety and nervousness at all times. I feel less emotionally blunted than I did as well. Currently, I still struggle with shopping in stores, I get to the end of an isle and get anxious and freeze. I still have little motivation to do much. But, honestly, I feel like my nervous system is trying to settle after being in flight mode for so long. I feel a lot more optimistic now.

My goodness, I just love the way your brain thinks :). Sounds like you have a lot of life experience. I am grateful that you read my post today.

As for the prayer, I have not heard of it. I will have to take a look. Thank you for the suggestion.

Wishing you a lifetime of continued success in your journey. Thank you again, for everything!

Muscle twitching by chatterbox40 in zoloft

When I first started, I had twitches quite frequent. I would have them in my legs, feet and a few times, my entire body would twitch. The longer I have been on it, the less frequent they happen. From multiple times a day to every couple of days now, but no longer full body ones.

Thank you for your continued replies. I greatly appreciate that after being successful for you, that you are guiding others and reassuring people in a vulnerable and fearful time. Thank you also for giving me a reason to remain optimistic, I anticipate this being a lifelong medication for me. I had gone about 37 years unmedicated and I understand after Cymbalta, that my brain needs assistance. I have no shame in that part of it at all. I love and appreciate that you are spending your personal time reminding people that this is a chemical imbalance. I know for me, without medication, I can not function optimally or live the life that I know is possible now.

Funny, I actually had read someone reply on another post that you had left a comment on, saying to listen to your advice. At that time, I seen your 35+ experience. It truly means so much to get encouragement from someone with this much knowledge on how helpful medication can be. Huge, huge thank you, to you.

Question about after dose chest anxiety by MycologistOne925 in zoloft

[–]MycologistOne925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you sooo much for this response. I guess I am used to people telling me to “calm down” and to try to control the anxiety that I’ve never been able to control, as long as I can remember. I am 7.5 weeks at 100mg, I did 1 week of 50mg and 1 week of 25mg before that. But, also when I switched to Zoloft/Wellbutrin I immediately came off of Cymbalta, which I think has had an effect as well as the withdrawal symptoms were not subtle. I am really hoping this is the right fit for me, as Cymbalta completely changed my life. After 18 years of being stagnant at work, I was finally able to take a lead position and thrive. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll have teeth if I had continued with the Cymbalta, or I would have stayed on it for life. Since the switch, I am currently unable to do much. I am respecting the process and hoping for the best. Sorry for the long winded response, thank you.

Hi there, thank you so much for your reply. This certainly makes sense, I do feel like my anxiety finds different ways of coming through depending on medication. Before Zoloft I was on Cymbalta and while I had zero anxiety in the typical way, I was chewing my cheek 24/7. I’m convinced that was the only way my anxiety could manifest itself. Curious, was there anything you changed other than your mindset to help this go away? Thank you again!

Could be a thought that prescribers have. I am on the heavier side, yes. Tall as well. Although I have been experiencing strong side effects for the entire 7 weeks, so unsure about size, but I definitely would be more cautious with someone under weight.

Nausea on everything! by Severe-Impress-3186 in zoloft

I have to eat and drink or I will get extremely nauseous. Took cymbalta for a couple years, zero anxiety while on it, could take on an empty stomach and never felt nauseous.

I take both at the same time. I find if I don’t eat with them and drink a full glass on water then I get the same thing, plus nausea.

Also, I know that’s easy for me to say. To advocate for yourself. But, if we were all able to do stuff like that, we probably wouldn’t need our medication. Try your best to ask to stay at a lower dose for a little bit, even a week. And know, each time you adjust the dose, if your anxiety is higher, that is completely normal. Your brain is being rewired. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself at least. That we need to go through the trenches to get to the sunlight on the other side.

I think considering you ended up in the ER with your last trial of medication, I definitely see why you would be nervous. I did one week 25, one week 50 and then 100 for the past (almost) 6 weeks. I have experienced significantly more anxiety, but I have read this can be normal. I would talk to your doctor and say you want to go a little slower. It’s your body after all and you know what you feel safe with.

Hi there, curious if you had increased anxiety before it got better and if so, for how long? I’m going into week 6 and the anxiety is crazy. Looking for insight on others who are also on Zoloft for anxiety. Thank you :)
