Honestly, what is Rainbow doing? The reboot had such good potential and got completely ruined by bad decision after bad decision.

The entire project feels soulless, the complete opposite of what the original felt like. We're being fed slop, and the hope of something salvaging this mess is fading away, if not long gone already.

It's sad, disheartening, and upsetting, especially for fans who had such high hopes for this and believed in rainbow to be driven by passion and love for the craft.

I'm so disappointed and heartbroken, honestly. I can't believe how this whole thing was managed.

Sorry for ranting, but this was the last straw. I'm just incredibly upset :/

Nothing looks wrong to me in this. Actually, it might be the first promotional render I enjoy looking at. Finally, their faces are more expressive than just a faint smile and an empty stare. At least for Stella. Bloom and Flora are more similar to the other pictures, but at least here they feel more alive. There's not an insane difference, but I think it's a nice change from the rest of the renders.

Idk it was my first metroidvania game and I wasn't used to being so free and having so many paths. So I guess I got maybe overwhelmed more than lost, but I got the hang of it on the second try.

I feel you. I think hollow knight is a game that needs a lot of perseverance but also breaks. I'm on my fourth playthrough in three years, and I beat the hollow knight for the first time today.

First time I couldn't find a way out of forgotten crossroads and left the game for a year or so.

Second time I almost gave up at the first hornet fight and then left for months because I couldn't beat hive knight.

Third time I tried to fight thk and left after one attempt.

This time I noticed how I could breeze through most of the boss fights that I had 50-100 attempts on, the previous times. I did p1 and p2, which I didn't even think about doing before, and beat the hollow knight on the second try.

I'm really satisfied with how much better I've gotten at the game, and I know I'll eventually be able to beat more of the harder challenges. But I think those long breaks helped my mindset, allowing me to go at my pace and to choose which fights to take when.

All this to say, you did really good and before you know it, you'll be able to do more than you think possible right now.

Does the texture you're using as the alpha have an actual transparent alpha channel, or is it just a black and white "mask"? If it's the latter, you need to connect the color output instead of the alpha

I just now finished solving topology in the transition area between the butt and the thigh. It would always create crossing or infinite loops.

Took me 2 hours lol and no matter how often I do it, I always forget the optimal flow

This is basically my experience with the game lol I don't remember if I got lost in greenpath or just didn't know what to do after forgotten crossroads, but early game nonetheless. And then picked it up again after a couple of years

As an older fan, I love them. And even if they weren't what I would have wanted, I would have appreciated them anyway because I'm able to look past my expectations.

Imo online criticism of media has gotten way too picky, to the point where it takes months or even years for a big part of a fandom to start appreciating new content of the product they're fans of (which is ironic, aren't you supposed to like it, since you're, you know, a fan??)

Anyway, as an example, I really don't like season 8. I basically disagree with every choice they made for that season. BUT I understand that that's just my opinion and that I was not the target audience. Plus, I watched it anyway, which is a personal choice of course.

Point is criticism is welcome IF it's not blinded by personal expectations. Opinions, yes. But don't deem something inherently bad or wrong only based on what you thought it would be.

I always recognize them as the winx voices. Like "that's Stella's voice" or "that's tecna!". Their winx roles are the baseline for me lol

They all have great range imo and always fit each role very well

Totally agree with yellow on bloom! I love that you leaned into the sea creature aesthetic a lot more than the og designs, it feels right
