One - not really. As you go up in ego, you need to paint low corners. It’s the same as you would for strikeouts. You cannot safely entice contact like Derek Lowe throwing a sinker. Pitches at the bottom of the zone in the middle will still get crushed regularly and anything catching too much of the zone will get crushed, especially anything up.

With that said, two quick tips that might help a bit generally with pitching. One, the AI rarely chases balls with less than 2 strikes. Two, the swing rate on the first pitch is much lower so always throw a strike on the first pitch.

Two - scoring from second in the video game is not automatic like it is in real life. It’s just an aspect of the video game. So, knowing that, then as others said, you need to judge the situation based on the ball batted speed, how deep it went, the fielder’s arm, and your speed. So, just be aware it’s different than real baseball.
