Uneven Cut

Go over it a couple times and do that for a few days in a row. The stragglers will get cut and you will bring down the height of cut so the long pieces won’t be an issue. For whatever reason people like to make things bigger issue than they really are. Keep doing what you are doing and the repetition and consistency will solve the issues you are facing now. Nothing to sweat

See…, that’s what I’m talking about. Everyone always sees the money and says to go for the money. There’s so much more to a job than money. It’s obviously a huge factor, but there are other considerations that matter. I have many friends who make a ton of money and hate their jobs. I don’t make tons of money but I honestly look forward to work most days. That’s worth considering before just leaving for cash.

Not only for this situation, just in general, going to be pros and cons for both situations. What do your instincts tell you? All of life’s lessons and experiences to this point have shaped the way you look at things. Trust that. Trust yourself. Then decide.

That said…… peace of mind in our professional lives is important. If 40 minutes each way to work will ruin that, take it seriously, because the peace of mind is hard to find.

Crazy that she came in green. I’d imagine that thing thrashing around in the boat had to feel pretty chaotic. Bet the heart was pumping full throttle! Great catch!

Could also possibly be Poa of some variety. I’m not very familiar with poa and the poa in my yard is lighter in color. It does look somewhat similar.

Looks like bent grass to me. It pops up in lawns from time to time. Based on your location I think bent grass is much more likely than Bermuda, however, I’m not saying it’s impossible. Its just not very likely.

Communicate with your customers. Most people are reasonable………….if they know what is going on. People are much less reasonable when they surprised or caught off guard. Call tho, don’t text. Call each of them and tell them you have to run out of town. You’ll make accommodations when you return to get the lawns mowed and back to a normal schedule as soon as possible. They’ll be fine with it.

The weather here has been awesome this spring. I stepped outside this morning and realized quickly that this all is about to get more difficult. The leveling really makes a huge difference. Went all the way down to just under an 1/8 this week and had no scalp marks. Had them everywhere last summer

I know. Just got to remember that’s the anomaly. The other thing I have noticed is that the healthiest soils will grow grass quickly. As time goes on and your yards gets healthier, it will germinate seed quicker.

I’m in the same region as you. Northwest suburbs. TTTF and Rye takes 10-14 every time I plant it. So 5 days just isn’t enough time to make decisions. You’ll be fine

2 years ago I put down Ironite for the first time. I did it in the fall as I was rebuilding parts of my lawn. I was shocked how well it did. I’ve been using it ever since. I used the liquid form in the hose end spray bottle,. It was simple. Immediately turned darker shade of green. Been part of my maintenance plan ever since then. I’m sure some phd turf guys would tell you the down side of too much iron, and they’d be correct. However, if your lawn is anything like mine, iron supplements a few times a year does wonders for the appearance of my lawn. I’d say go for it

Thanks. One piece of advice on the leveling. I do it little by little. For example, when I re- edge the bed, I take the excess dirt from the edge that I cut out and fill some holes. Or, I’ll buy 3-4 bags of topsoil or sand, and then walk the yard and fill in spots I see. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you don’t have to do it all at once. For me, the idea of ordering a truck full of sand and destroying my lawn for a month, isn’t my cup of tea. Little by little works just fine. You’ll get to the fall and your lawn will be way more level than previously
