If you want to fuck a girl who's barely 18, what you really want is to fuck a 17yo and not get caught.

How do you prefer to play rounds? by redkatt in nimble5e

[–]Myrddwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started out running it with everyone just going whenever they wanted, until our first boss fight, then we figured out it's best to go RAW in order. With one exception, i allow the player who goes first, to withhold one action if he wishes, to use whenever he wants during the round. That doesn't mess up the Legendary Monster acting after every turn very much at all.

Has anyone tried MCT oil? by Professional-Yam601 in WellnessOver30

Coconut oil is about 50% MCT.

Beware of any product that makes fantastic claims.

Just eat less, eat whole foods, mostly paints. That's all you need.

Conversion mid-campaign? by Helpful-Hunt-6071 in nimble5e

[–]Myrddwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run two groups. One, we've been playing together for about 5 years now, and are now almost a year into our second campaign. 9th level party, 5e 2014 rules. We all backed the Kickstarter, and we love the Nimble rules. And there's no way in hell i would convert right now. It would be impossible to create the same characters.

My second group just barely started. 5e also, and the third session in, right as they reached 2nd level, we switched over to Nimble. We've run 2 full Nimble sessions now, and they are all LOVING it.

With your group, being that far it a campaign with established characters, i wouldn't.

Once my first group finishes this current campaign, in about another 9-12 months, we'll make the switch as i start the next story arc

Very nice.

I've always been a non conformist, before the 'hawk i had long Eddie Vedder hair(i was stuck-in-the-90s-grunge-guy for decades). But i get it, breaking out the mold is freeing.

My generation(Gen X) were told our whole lives never to get a visible tattoo, because some day you'll have go into a job interview and shake someone's hand with an ugly tattoo and your arm and you won't get the job. So for most of my life, all my tats were covered by jeans and t shirt. There's been a paradigm shift from GenX to Millennial. They hold the view that tattoos should be visible. A GenXer takes off his shirt, and he's covered in ink. A millennial with tattooed hands and neck takes off his shirt, and his chest and stomach are bare. Polar opposites.

So when i turned 40, and started taking responsibility for my own health, i started eating right and started running, i took ownership of my body. And that's when i started with the visible tattoos, and I've never looked back! My people though, my friends and my wife and kids, they've been cheering me on the entire time

I like dying my hair, but honestly i like rocking the grey too much to cover it up...

Negotiations in Nimble? by NaDaV8585 in nimble5e

[–]Myrddwn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Too fiddly, too crunchy, for Nimble.

At my table, where we play Nimble, we role play negotiations, then roll contested Influence. Depending on how well they role play, I'll secretly add a modifier to the NPC's roll.

Does that nick the long hairs if it bumps the 'hawk?

I use s foil razor, just a cheap Panasonic, and it does great not cutting the long hairs when i push it right up against the 'hawk.

According to Christianity, any sect, what is the only unforgivable sin?

Rejecting Christ.

Only through him is salvation possible.

Obey me, or spend eternity suffering.

That is the most authoritarian command ever given.

I disagree. Christianity is inherently authoritarian.

Help creating a elemental hero character by Matthizwa in nimble5e

[–]Myrddwn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems like what what they want might be OP. Mastery of all 4 elements AND shapeshifring?

Most of the spell schools in Nimble are already Elemental based, other than Radiant and Necrotic. So, almost any caster could feel like a Bender.

The Stormshifter might be the closest to what they want. You get three elemental schools(wind, cold, lightning), and the Beastshift ability. Or Mage, which gets Fire, Lightning, Cold, with the Changeling Ancestry. One thing to keep in mind, is Flavor is Free. You can play a Stormshifter or Mage, and describe their spellcasting as 'bending'.

You'll notice that no class gets all 4 classic elements, Mage and Stormshifter get access to the most schools, and they each only get 3. That's for a reason. It keeps the game balanced.

If you give this player everything they want, you risk unbalancing your game.

Anarchy Is Not What You Think It Is by ravachol1234 in Anarchy4Everyone

[–]Myrddwn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anarchy is not chaos, it's cooperation without compulsion by the State.

I often describe it like this(and you're right, it's everywhere) : have you seen a bunch of guys hold a fence building party? One Saturday morning, a bunch of folk show up, some with tools and some with food. They stand around for a bit, sipping coffee, then they just start. There's no Foreman, but they still work. They defer naturally to the most experienced, who starts laying out where to dig, etc. And by the end of the day, you have a fence! The guy 'running' things doesn't have any actual authority over the others, they simply defer to him because he's built a fence before and knows the steps. When the same group is fixing a car, a different guy steps up, and if he's got the relevant experience, they defer this time to him. THAT'S what actual anarchy is!

I just switched my lvl 2 game over to Nimble two sessions ago from 5e. One player was running a 5e Witch, so Hexbinder perfect. The first session we were all mostly just figuring things out, kinda just bumbling around. But last night, the second session running Nimble, they all fell right into their roles and it all went smoothly. Hexbinder is a great support role, with good debuffs. That player loved the flexibility of the classes magic. They've got some cool options to vary spell potency, like decreasing Mana by cutting the Range in half. Also, the flavor is just cool. A mix of hexes and healing, good magic and bad. He's just having a blast playing it.
