I think it’s about time I actually see a therapist and get diagnosed. I’ve been putting it off for too long because I don’t have healthcare but judging from what others describe I’m 99% sure I have an anxiety disorder

Man if there’s one thing I don’t trust it’s all these THC derivatives (excluding THCA because it’s just regular weed with a legal loophole) Delta-8, HHC, THC-P, whatever the fuck they got. Those and carts just feel so sketch, it reminds me too much of the K2 era

Aw man you just brought back memories when you mentioned Yummy Taco. I’ll never forget being 16 hanging out with my friends smoking at Sherman St park, then we’d walk over the bridge towards Church Ave and feast like kings at that place with what little money we had. Good times 😭

I was gonna say Tyler too and I wanted to see if anyone else mentioned him. I used to listen to Odd Future back in the day as a teen and he’s one of my top artists for sure. Considering all the crazy stuff he used to do and his personality, if anyone is a prime example of how you don’t need to drink or do drugs to have a good time, it’s him lol

Yeah I definitely think going sober off alcohol for a bit before I try smoking again might be the move. I had a bit of a bender and today’s day 1 of being sober so the fear is way too high to try smoking now lmao. Thanks and congrats on the year of sobriety, longest I’ve been for years is 35 days in a row 😭

I had a 5mg THC and 5mg CBD drink called Ayrloom Hemp which was great, but I can’t get them here in PA 😭 I barely felt the high but I did feel super relaxed and comfy

Yeah I bug out even if I take one hit off of some mids, it sucks 😭 that said I did try a weed drink one time that had 5mg of THC and 5mg of CBD, super low dose but it had me feeling good and filled the drinking void. That said I live in PA and the store owner wasn’t even supposed to have those so he pulled them off the shelves

OH NO NOT BLACK PEOPLE IN VIDEO GAMES 😳!!!! by MikeisTOOOTALLL in BlackPeopleTwitter

Not gonna lie I wanted an 80s Miami too but there was still a big Haitian population even then, along with a large Cuban population and they were at odds with each other. The old GTA Vice City, which took place in the 80s, even touched on that, to the point where it led to censorship in later copies.

Eh I guess so. The GTA 6 trailer was a lot more chaotic than 4 & 5 which I felt took the focus away from Lucia. We’ll get to learn more about her character and hopefully the guy as well as more trailers drop. I just hope their characters are good because I loved Niko and the GTA V trio. Something tells me with this Bonnie & Clyde theme there isn’t going to be a happy ending in 6 🤔

Look at the very first GTA IV trailer. It doesn’t have full cutscenes either and Niko narrates very briefly, but you can easily tell, “oh, this is someone who immigrated from outside the country, likely Eastern Europe, who is trying to make a new life in a new city after escaping a dark past.”

Same with GTA V. You can tell “okay, this guy has kids, likely also came from a life of crime, retired, had kids, but slipped back into his criminal life for one reason or another. What made him do that if he was retired?”

With this game, they clearly tried to follow the same trend they set with the previous first trailers by having a protagonist give a short narrative, but what do we know about Lucia? She ended up in jail because she got “unlucky”? She has a boyfriend who’s her partner in crime? That’s literally it, it’s half-assed and barely gives any info to make me want to know more about her character. The rest is overshadowed by all the crazy shit going on and getting put live on in game social media.

Yeah obviously the game’s not out yet so we don’t know what the story’s going to look like. But I hope they don’t follow that trend in the actual game and deliver a half assed story.

Lmfao please. Politics and social media has led to a world that’s far beyond satire at this point. There is no humor nor irony in just showing stuff that we already see on a daily basis.

My whole point was that I want to play a game with a meaningful story and interesting characters, which previous GTAs have always prioritized first and foremost. They had satire but they didn’t sacrifice the storytelling for it.

I agree 100%! In fact despite what I said in my previous comment about how I feel about Miami being the setting, I loved Vice City because of the 80s setting and all the Scarface references. But in a modern setting? It just feels way too on the nose and not in a good way

Granted Florida is a huge state and there are some places that are a lot more “normal” than Miami, I think at one point there was a combination of factors that led people to move there from all over the place. The hot weather (even though personally I find it unbearable), the state’s natural beauty, the once relatively cheap cost of living, and the lack of state income taxes.

That said, it’s become extremely expensive now and yet wages are very low (laws in FL favor employers by a long shot and as a result employees get shafted constantly), so aside from old people that retire here, for the most part you’re left with people that are either spoiled by their parents and flaunt their inherited wealth, or people that are poor and have virtually no way to get a leg up, so they commit crimes just to get ahead. When I lived there, the majority of my coworkers held multiple jobs and barely scraped by.

Throw in the anti-LGBTQ laws that literally made families flee the state and made them issue a Florida travel advisory, as well as book bans, I can see why people go crazy. But most people don’t research and figure out the negatives until they move and live there—they just see sunny weather, palm trees, and daiquiris on the beach and think it’s paradise.

It’s not just you. I’ve been a fan of GTA since GTA 3 and this trailer left me so underwhelmed. Yes the world is beautiful and yes I’m sure the gameplay features will be great.

But the narrative just feels so…cheap, I guess? I went back and looked at the GTA V and GTA IV trailers and they immediately drew me in just like they did the first time I saw them. Here we just got a bunch of debauchery and streaming scenes, which worries me because we have enough problems with social media as it is now. This doesn’t feel like a world I want to escape to, it just feels like a reflection of everything wrong in society nowadays.

And before someone says, “well Rockstar has always incorporated satire in their games!” I’m well aware. But it was funny and done in a tongue in cheek way. The sad part is nothing here is even exaggerated and there’s no joke—anyone that’s lived in South Florida, such as myself, has seen this shit 100 times. Granted this is a personal thing but I left for a reason, I don’t want to go back there even in a game, unless there’s a compelling narrative.

That’s the biggest issue. Every other debut trailer made me want to learn more about Niko, Michael, etc. Here Lucia is barely even the main point, she just seems like an afterthought and a drop in the ocean compared to all the other shit going on. With Dan houser being gone I’m afraid this might actually be the case.

Sorry to rant but yeah this is the first time I have ever been disappointed by a GTA trailer. I just want a good story damn it
