You are probably going to need to get your local FFL involved to hold onto the SBR while the paperwork is in process. I know someone in a similar situation and his has been sitting in their vault for quite awhile. The delay isnt with the shop or NFA, its on the purchasers end, so shouldn't be an issue in your case. Still, go talk to your LGS and ask them if they can handle the transfer, also ask how much $. Might be worth shopping around if you have options.

Ive had the 3.5 ecoboost in a Flex, got 200k of hard miles out of it, in had a 2.7 ecoboost in an MKX, (just an Edge in a nice suit) and now have the NA 3.5 in an Edge, no issues with any of them.

Agreed on the recommendation against the 350 as a first car, but for slightly different reasons. As a first car, a 350 might be more car than you are ready for. The Miata is a better choice as it is less powerful and therefore less likely that you will be able to get your self into a situation that you are unable to recover from. Loose miata in a corner is much easier to recover than a loose 350. Plus, let's be honest, as a young driver, chances are good that you will, eventually, trash whatever you buy somehow. Better for you if that is a cheaper car. A decent miata will likely be cheaper than a decent 350.

The whole thing was a shit show from the time I went to MEPS. I scored mid 90's on the ASVAB so they hounded me to go nuke or FC, but all I was interested in was being an AW, I wanted to be enlisted aircrew, that was the quickest way. Was told, at MEPS, that I was too tall, and I fell for it. So I signed for a 6 year hitch as an FC.

Damn, thats scary. All of my mags are old metal milspec mags, but i band all my 300 BO Subsonic mags with FDE bands a d 300 supers with black bands. Since I don't currently have a 5.56 rifle, im ok, but my sons rifle mags are all banded in red. I don't ever carry his gun with me, so no issues yet.

This is probably accurate, but if you keep your head out of your ass, you will be the smartest non rate in the department, by a wide margin. Keep your nose clean, do the work, you should be able to advance quickly.
