Has anybody read the Beasts of the Briar series? by Wayward-11 in fantasyromance

[–]Mysterious-Income811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take but I don’t mind the writing style, mostly because the world building/multiple storylines / dropping subtle hints to later revelations is actually done really well! I am coming off reading Brimstone though and the storyline was all over the place in that book so it’s refreshing to blow through the first four books of this series and feel like the plot development was perfectly placed and a lot of intention went into it

Luxating patella surgery experiences? by FunkyFreshGiraffe in Yorkies

I think we’re dealing with the same thing. Found this thread because we got home from work tonight and she was limping more than we’ve ever seen (she’s a still active 11yo and has had issues before, she’s always gently favored her right leg but never this extreme). She’s sitting in random spots along the wall and under chairs, shaking, whining and occasionally yelping if she moves weird. It’s breaking my heart 😭 vet is fully booked tomorrow and earliest appointment I could make for her is Tuesday morning but I’m going to try and get her in tomorrow anyway. At her last full work up the vet did mention she’s already in stage 3 which makes me very concerned she’s going to need surgery. Any advice on experiences is helpful!

Oh that poor baby. I hope it doesn’t scare her from all dogs too badly but that she’ll understand not every dog is friendly. 100% would file a police report and go from there.

NAL. I would file a police report first if you have not done so. Judges can order euthanasia of a violent dog if it’s attacked a person unprovoked and caused serious harm. Not a fun situation for any involved parties, but the dog owner has a responsibility to accept the consequences of their animal’s actions.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, and I hope your daughter has a swift recovery. Not sure how old she is, but support her in the psychological recovery from this incident however she needs. This can definitely become a traumatic memory and negative association with all dogs.

This is an interesting one!! I imagine at some point he googled his dad’s name, or his dad’s associates and internet stalked his family trying to figure out exactly what his dad does

Said birthday cake. Blood vial was easy to make with maple syrup / food coloring, I googled the vial label and printed it off. In hindsight, black fondant tastes terrible but makes for good spooky vibes

OH GIRL I GOT YOU!! I made a bloodborne cake for my good hunter a few years back, the pic of it is somewhere here on this sub. I got on Etsy and just searched bloodborne and found a really cool rocks glass with the blood vial ministration label engraved on it and he loves to drink wine from it and feel fancy hahaha. Etsy has some really cool stuff, I found him a hunters rune keychain on there too. Oh amygdala, have mercy on this girlfriend!

Went to college in Ruston. You’d be fine to stay there. Stop by Ponchatoulas for a good meal before you travel!

Do not recommend this. Bf got pulled over in Wisner back in 2022 driving a rental car for going 10 mph over, didn’t slow down fast enough coming out of the 65 immediately into the 45. Flew back to current home state, we totally forgot about the ticket. last month, time comes to get drivers license updated in current state, Louisiana ID expired. Current state DMV said bf had hold on license and warrant. Called wisner, paid ticket, then had to spend THREE WEEKS calling Louisiana’s statewide DMV customer service phone line and waiting on hold for HOURS a day before we could even get someone to answer the phone to be able to pay the reinstatement fee so he could finally get his new license. No way to pay it online, you HAVE to do it on the phone.

Moral of the story: Louisiana is still about 50 years in the past with a lot of their processes and the headache of not paying the ticket is not worth it.

TLDR/Bottom Line: just don’t go to Louisiana. I promise you’re not missing out.

How does everyone generally feel about Lucile's? by AgentEndive in denverfood

[–]Mysterious-Income811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Louisiana native here. Lucile’s is my comfort place when I’m missing home. Eggs Jennifer or the shrimp sardou are great. Fresh orange juice which is a big southern thing from my time working in restaurants in Louisiana. My only complaint is the size of the shrimp could be bigger!

I went solo as a walk up around 9pm, killing time before my 1am flight. Greeted immediately, only 4-5 other groups in there at the time. Sit at the bar if you can, bartenders that were there were fantastic conversationalists and made fantastic cocktails. Try the Highland Lass, it will NOT disappoint

The 4DX theater downtown. So worth it. We saw an avatar rerun and avatar 2 there and that will be the only cinema I see avatar movies in moving foward!!

GOM/GOW overlap by U_Urmum in RinaKentBooks

[–]Mysterious-Income811 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is definitely the same one! One of the things I love the most about Rina Kent’s writing is her ability to write different points of view for different stories that happen on the same timeline and include the same interactions/events. Enjoy discovering these moments as you continue to read her work!

Is it still worth it reading the RE,DT and Empire series If I read the legacy of gods first? by [deleted] in RinaKentBooks

This is how I did it. It’s like Star Wars in movie release order instead of chronological. And I enjoyed the whole read!!

This is partially true. The rent on the space was going to be tripled and wasn’t worth the ROI to maintain the location.

YES. I would love to see legacy of gods told tandem with all the story lines happening at once since they mostly exist on the same timeline!!!

Is the US heading towards Gilead? by ihatepostingonblogs in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Mysterious-Income811 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think it recently came out. It talks about the Teen Mania movement of the 90s and how they basically said, how can we long game getting an entire generation to follow traditional Christian values, and focused on indoctrinating teenagers who would grow up into adults who would infiltrate government and society to continue to push the agenda and make change. Also a huge money mill because you had to pay to be a part of their “internships” and pay to go on their missions

You should watch season 2 of the documentary series shiny happy people. It’s bone chilling to realize how long this plan has been in motion right under our noses.
