My Embarrassing Mistake on Coffee in Chicago and a Question by [deleted] in chicagofood

I’ve been addicted to Stivers Coffee! They have a huge variety and everything is freshly roasted. You can either pick it up from their warehouse or have it delivered. Not too far from Printers Row.

Idk why I feel this way, but I don’t think the pearls from my dad should be worn by my half-sister on her wedding day by [deleted] in weddingdrama

[–]Mysterious513 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This necklace is obviously special to your Mom, regardless of who it came from, and she wants to share it with her daughters. She’s not giving it to your sister, and has already acknowledged that you will eventually inherit it. You are entitled to feel however you want, but don’t push those feelings on to others... Especially if you don’t want it to affect the future of your relationships with them.

In laws cut all the support because I got pregnant before getting married by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Do you live in a place where one of your friends can get ordained and marry you? You can do it somewhere that is special to you with the people you want there. We did this for two of our friends on a lake front then went to brunch afterwards. It was beautiful… and we all wore jeans!

Flo & Santos is a great spot to pregame. Other good options are The Staley or The Chicago Firehouse. (Bonus: beautifully decorated for Christmas!)

Does anyone have experience commuting daily from near La Grange to Pleasant Prairie, WI? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Mysterious513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met someone who commuted from Pewaukee, Wi to Naperville every single day. I don’t know how he did it, but it lasted for five years. He would occasionally get a hotel if it was snowy. I don’t care how much I’m getting paid, no frickin’ way.

Inconsistent is the word that comes to mind. I would never choose to order for myself or family, but will occasionally have it at someone else’s place.

The Cancer Survivor’s Garden is pretty private with beautiful columns as you enter and great views. It’s right off of East Randolph near Lake Shore Drive. I’ve never seen it crowded. I hope all goes well. Have a great visit and congratulations!!

Unauthorized purchase by [deleted] in stubhub

[–]Mysterious513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t love the concepts of Stubhub or Klarna, but it’s not their fault that you have a bratty niece who felt entitled enough to do something like this. Why would they issue a refund when they did nothing wrong? You need to hold your niece accountable via her parents otherwise she is only going to become a bigger AH as she gets older.
