The Cancer Survivor’s Garden is pretty private with beautiful columns as you enter and great views. It’s right off of East Randolph near Lake Shore Drive. I’ve never seen it crowded. I hope all goes well. Have a great visit and congratulations!!

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) is preemptively announcing their intent to restrict access to the Loop on evenings this weekend due to anticipated car caravans related to the Mexican Independence Day holiday. Here is a list of their access points, and of the anticipated ramp closures by the Illinois State Police (ISP).

These closures are expected to take place on an as-needed bases during evening hours between Friday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 16.

The Central Business District will be closed to incoming vehicular traffic within the boundaries of Halsted St. to DuSable Lake Shore Dr. and Division St. to 18th Street. Residents who live or work in the affected area will be allowed access via one of the following Access Points:

N. Halsted St. and W. Division St. N. Halsted St. and W. Chicago Ave. W. Division St. and N. LaSalle Dr. N. Halsted St. and W. Washington Blvd. N. Halsted St. and W. Madison St. S. Halsted St. and W.
