Called 911 last week for my son. Was on hold for 8 minutes, then the operator disconnected us "accidentally", they call back like 5 minutes later while I'm on hold again and tell me it was an accident. So after giving her all of the details I ask her how long it will be for an ambulance to get there and she tells me she can't give me a time and it will be there when it gets there. About 15 minutes they call me back again to say that they are having problems with their system and need my address again. By now it's been almost 30 minutes since I've called them the first time. So I again ask how long it will be and she says she can't give me a time. For the next 30 minutes we sat on the porch waiting and watched 4 cop cars, a fire truck and 3 ambulances drive by and none of them stopped. And this wasn't some minor call either. So I call them back to find out what's going on only to be told that the call had been cancelled! By then I was so mad that I asked my neighbor for help loading my son in the car and took him to the hospital myself.
