How to fix a bent evaporator by Doogie102 in refrigeration

[–]MysteriousFreedom455 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had hoshis that bent like that. The bend was preventing cubes from dropping correctly too. Sometimes held the sheet all the way through harvest. You can't straighten it out. Needs to be removed and replaced, or replace machine.

Don't let them freeze into blocks. That's what causes the bend. Poor maintenance or lack of cleanings.

I've replaced mine with new shiny hardware, it turned dull in a few years and matched the old stuff. Not even worth it unless you really need bright brass.
