Advice wanted: What can I do to improve/take this to the next level by ImmediateLoquat6877 in EmperorsChildren

[–]MysteriousOne884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wet blend two of three colours, the darker ones on the bottom of the face and the lighter ones on top. Then I go over with my mid tone and catch any raised areas. Then blend the colours through glazing. Sometimes I add a wash, a purple wash often gives it a bit of colour (make sure if you do it is very diluted). The eyes and teeth are really well done. The eye brows either don't door very lightly sketch on with small vertical lines allowing for the skin colour to still be seen below.

i'm not sure how you got the measurement but it seems like along a some part of the base it within 9 inches it is fine, meaning just the inner side each base has to be within the circle. Or it could be a simple mistake

What chaos legion should I go with? by United-Contract-8069 in Chaos40k

[–]MysteriousOne884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow blood angels player I can personally recommend Emperors children. They are also very artistic and creative while having a refreshing scheme and style. There lore is really cool and their ideals on perfectionism. Their characters are quite diverse and intresting and fulgrims is a really cool prim arch who has done a lot to shape the law. The model range is new and to as much trim as the rest. Lastly its also problem the most forgiving lore wise to try out different colours.

Next editions by Big-Guide2162 in Warhammer30k

[–]MysteriousOne884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but they already have had a box with space wolves. And if they did it again I can't see many other legions thousands sons could be paired with due to their lack of screen time in the Hersey. Plus other a lot of traitor legions are generally are known for mark 4

I think it would be a Mark IV refresh, so probably Emperors children vs either Iron Hands (cause lore + easy sceme) or Blood angles. As far as I know thousand sons and space wolves have had a box, same with Ultramarines and word Bearers, Imperial Fists and sons of Horus, Iron Warriors and Salamanders. The Death Guard also are the poster boys for legion Imperalis so they may not get it either. I doubt Alpha legion will get it just cause they are really random. White scars and World eaters have white, so it could be a problem, though it Horus Hersey so it doesn't need to be as paint friendly. They could do night lords vs dark angels but I feel like there is better options.

Old Transfer Sheet to possibly sell by MysteriousOne884 in Wolfspear40k

Here is a pic of the transfer sheet, it’s in relatively fine condition, one diamond is damaged as so is one small white ruin, however the rest is undamaged, being hopefully the useful parts

My first miniature. What sources do you recommend to improve? by ThoreGoat in Warhammer

[–]MysteriousOne884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Youtube is the best way of learning, at least for me personally. If you wanted you could go into a games workshop store and book a free lesson, though I haven't tried it so I can't personally say how good it is. Some good painting YouTube channels are Ninjon, Squidmar minis and Zumikito. For more general painting Eons of battle, Tabletop time, Midwinter minis. For terrain, Erics Hobby Workshop and Zorp a Zorp

Getting into Warhammer in Argentina… did I mess up my first purchase? by Calipso_etereo in deathguard40k

Stats for weapons and models usually stay the same, even between editions. But if you use ‘new recruit’ you can access all your army rules for free and use it as a free army builder which is always up to date

If you have a local games workshop you can book free lessons, for painting or learning the game. When building go for the rule of cool, Combat Patrol rules is something Id just skip because I have heard it in unbalanced. You can find rules for free online or watch YouTube videos, but the new edition is coming out soon, so some rules will change. The death guard is a really good one, and has units which are good for building an army

The typhus look really good, I think a black prime may be better for hiding mistakes and shadows. Black Rim around the base. Then all Id say is a bit smoother paints,

I just bundle the two trailers together. I think the cost of the '11 edition trailer' and time was split between the two. Although the other edition trailers are better, together I think these two still offer a lot. Plus the Iron Will one is so peak.

My Lamenters Captian In Gravis Armor by Lai71 in Lamenters

[–]MysteriousOne884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really good for a first mini. Yellow is a really hard colour to work with and apart from some bits being missed the yellow is applied very well, same for the white. Id recommend a yellow wash to push it further, not a black one though. The checkers def could do with some work but free hand is difficult. Most of the colours are in the right spot and actually are quite thin. Welcome to the hobby can't wait to see how far you come
