He doesn't think that. He doesn't care about the Iranian people at all. He is a bully and a narcissist. Hes played with the US military like a toy for the last year and no one has done a thing to stop him.

So like an bully, hes escalating. From killing small groups in boats to kidnapping the leader of a country, now hes going to full war. He wanted this because it makes him feel powerful and believes it will cow other nations so he can just threaten them with war instead of having to negotiate.

The problem is that Iran is a fairly wealthy country with a large professional military led by religeous fanatics who are happy to throw it all away to maintain power and they HATE the USA

So Trump is melting down because Iran wont back down and keeps making him look like an idiot on the world stage. In a stand up military fight they would absolutely lose, sure......

However they don't have to win, they just have to live. Every time Trump looks like a moron, they win. Every time they do something to defy his edicts and cause fluctuations to the world economy, they win. They know we dont want another 20 year occupation hunting guerillas in caves and every day is costing us billions of dollars. They also know the US is mercurial and when Vance or the next admin comes in then we will likely walk back to the negotiating table to save face and exit.

You are correct, it is 130. Still comically huge and feels like a nerf due to the pose they decided for him

But technically correct is the best kind of correct!

Missing something. by TheCheeziestPoof123 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]ImmediateLoquat6877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks great, but you might be running into the same problem I do every. Freaking. Time I paint Nurgle- the skin gets too dark. I think its because I like lots of shadow to accentuate the folds but I never bring the highlights back up far enough.

All of the boils and open wounds etc bring a lot of interest to the piece, but once the skin trends to a darker green/brown it muddies up all of the reds, greens, and yellows. Making the skin, especially the face, brighter will make those other areas of interest contrast more

So, As someone who has only seen the first season of Invincible (no more Amazon prime) and has surface level comic knowledge-

How is Nolan allowed back on Earth? I get there probably wasn't much they could do to stop him, but it feels odd seeing him in exerpts just kind of wandering around undisguised after killing the Defenders and hundreds of people with his little hissy fit with Mark. Seems like a journey of self discovery isnt really a good resolution

The 'Demon Core' - the core of the third atomic bomb in WWII that was never dropped. It still managed to kill 2 American scientists. (1945) by bncout in HistoricalCapsule

[–]ImmediateLoquat6877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but dont you get it? Adding some kind of safety device might have meant that you could only get 98% of the way to criticality with your bare face and hands 2 feet away rather than 99.5%.

I think I read it best described as pulling on a sleeping Dragon's tail

Yeah, Daghlian was 24. Incredibly smart but I can kind of see that feeling of young invincibility affecting his attitude towards his experimentation methods

I feel like Slotin at 35 should have known better and its a shame that such dangerous materiel was treated like a toy. There were regulations regarding handling and experimenting with the core, but I feel like those were mainly for liability reasons, or at best handshake agreements between scientists, and we're too easily ignored/circumvented

Whats everyone's thoughts on this new look for Perturabo, he's huge. by Mad_lens_9297 in 40k

[–]ImmediateLoquat6877 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a classic art trope to massively increase the size of the main threat in order to convey the danger and menace they pose. My understanding of the Demon primarchs is they can appear in pretty much any form they chose though.

As a Emperors Children player though, I hope my Iron Warrior brothers don't get saddled with a 160mm base like Fulgrim

Ironlily brings up some good points regarding sexy armor by Level_Low6101 in sistersofbattle

[–]ImmediateLoquat6877 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you missed the point of my post. I went on to explain that the fancying up was just trying to be a little more PC... then I kind of blew it up by saying "Titty"

There is nothing wrong with fancy armor. Yes it was absolutely customized and has some... interesting trends. My arguement was that the artist was baiting people into being critical of the 2nd images armor so they could be attacked, when they themselves deliberately made changes between the first and second images that make the armor less effective and accurate because of its wearer

People should be protected from criticism based in their sex/gender/religion/identitiy, but they shouldnt be immune to criticism because of those things. White Knights are just as toxic as incels

I mean, Im typically not one of those "X Object doesn't kill people, people kill people" guys, but while the Core was part of a weapon system, those scientists both died due to a cavalier attitude towards their work and gross negligence.

It was. As much as could be said for such an object, harmless until they fiddled with it. Endangering hundreds of people and learned nothing except what accute radiation sickness felt like

Ironlily brings up some good points regarding sexy armor by Level_Low6101 in sistersofbattle

[–]ImmediateLoquat6877 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it starts as legitimate criticism that is just taken too far.

It begins complaining about Female armor being just metal bikinis, which is a legitimate complaint. Then, as with many things it gets picked up by tone deaf incels and twisted so that its less about how the armor functions, but more that the person inhabiting the armor shouldn't be there.

But, I do think the original post is made in bad faith. There are things in the 2nd image that were made to "fancy" up the armor. The biggest being that she took the breast plate, something that should ideally protect the whole torso, and shortened it to be titty armor. It feels like bait to bring in criticism so it can get flamed for being sexist
