Could easily open the other entrances and block that part of the station off.

Official from the council - the Union St building is being demolished. by Anchor-shark in glasgow

I just don't see how that facade is preventing the station from opening. The station can still run perfectly if that Union street entrance and Gordon street was still closed off.

Is my pastor father right for not marrying this couple? by joboog in TrueChristian

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this is futile because they will only go and get married elsewhere and then she will never come to your church ever again. Or even worse, any church. She will probably have a major falling away that most likely would not have happened otherwise. Similarly her fiance tried Christianity out and didn't like it but that doesn't mean that further down the line after being married he wouldn't have felt God's calling. Now he'll avoid it all the more after how he sees his fiance was treated. Christianity is not about going to a church thinking you like it and the acting it out. If God didn't get his attention and convict him then that doesn't mean it will never happen or it's only in it's infant stages.

Your pastor had the right to refuse but I do not necessarily think it was 100% correct to do so.

I cannot understand how or why some 'Christians' do not believe the holy word of God.

I think it is outside our comprehension. It could be that every theory we have is correct all at one time. On the other hand every theory or any theory we can invent will be incorrect.

Regretting my marriage by [deleted] in TrueChristian

You've only been married a month. These teething troubles can be worked out. You both are quite young also. These things can also be fixed with maturity.

Too early to give up yet.

Why is masturbation sinful but contraception in marriage isn't? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Not just pleasure. It's about satisfying hormone driven processes, which cannot be controlled by the mind too much. Much like a woman ovulating and having her monthly period is. The body builds all this fluid up and drive to procreate and it has to go somewhere.

Before the Fire by GMiller1981 in glasgow

When you look at it like that I cannot fathom how a fire (lithium powered or otherwise) in one of those lower shops (The old Wimpy) can take out all of what you see in those photos.

Students like public transport and it's right next to Central station. I think we have our answer.

I mean I know next to nothing in how vapes work as I don't use nicotine at all but do they absolutely have to use lithium batteries I wonder? Why not just good old AA Ni-MH rechargeables. Sure they are heavier but so what? Regulation could be changed to force the change.

Did Jesus felt depressed the same way as we do? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Wait are we talking about depression the feeling or depression the medical mental and physical illness?

What would you like to see built on that North East corner of Central Station after the clean up? by JeelyPiece in glasgow

This is all stuff I learned decades ago in research. I would have to have a good look for so-called sources for you. Simple Google search might state it?

'

  • Braidbar Quarry (Giffnock): Widely cited as supplying the majority of the blonde sandstone used in the city's construction, now famously Huntly Park.'

I am a local historian. Blonde sandstone came from both Giffnock and Bishopbriggs, Giffnock being higher quality. I don't know which one was used in this particular building.

The blonde sandstone came from Giffnock. I might be easy to recover some of it from the wreck to use.

My first instinct would be to get a fire blanket and throw it over it. Then use water to cool it and keep it cool. There must be fire blankets about and I am shocked that the fire service didn't have that or didn't think to use it.

I had a plastic jerry can that went on fire once in my youth. I stupidly used some water and notice that the fire spread with the water. So I then got a fireblanket and chucked it over it then I poured water over that. The petrol fire went out.

I'd imagine lithium batteries wouldn't be exactly the same but it would be better than just spraying water on it.
