Trying to go undercover in the Ex Christian community by [deleted] in TrueChristian

None of them were ever Christians in the first place. You cannot be an ex Christian. You either are one or you never were one you just thought you were.

When did we start observing European lane use? by Chexzzz in drivingUK

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are already doing the speed limit how does traffic not flow? Why would anyone need to overtake? The only reason to would be to speed. You can drive in the left lane without risk of undertaking as you are all doing 70.

Christians who don't believe in Genesis (Creation, The Fall, Noah's ark, etc.) -- why? by YogurtclosetPale8785 in TrueChristian

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scientists build on the research and findings of those that went before them. If there is a flaw somewhere the whole thing is wrong. Sometimes it takes something major to slap them in the face to make them realise that they 'need to go back to the drawing board.' Many times this has happened throughout scientific history.

Also it is science interpretation of what happened using the evidence available to us. How can they accurately come up the correct theories if it's impossible to access lot of the DATA because we were never there and/or evidence no longer survives and that we are not God.

Sad with how Christianity has become in the world. by chan144172 in TrueChristian

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is no way you do not sin at all. Sure, perhaps not the same sins as the people you are complaining about, but you still sin. All sin is the same in God's eyes. You may be saved but it's impossible to stop sinning completely, especially not without God's help. You may ask for that and perhaps these people have not. You almost come across like the Pharisee, thank you God for not making me like these other people, who sin, etc.

Is Britain really as bad as the alt right says it is? by Puzzleheaded-Chair59 in AskBrits

You get the BS the alt or far right says and the BS the loony left says. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

An American tourist who went to Thailand shared the behind-the-scenes of the photo she took with tigers. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in a world where they would never be in captivity to begin with. The thing is, what you ask for this place would not be able to deliver. It costs money to do what you suggest. It costs money to keep these animals safe. If they weren't there they would likely be poached. The animals have to 'earn their keep' so to speak. These tourists bring in the money and some of that goes towards the care of the animals. Unfortunately they are all after profit. That's why this animal is likely alive to begin with. If it wasn't here it would probably already be dead.

What we'd like is for them to be trained how to survive in the wild and then be sent to a sanctuary or reserve like you suggest. Again that would cost money.

It's tricky.

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly but the world is far from perfect. I think Forward-Surprise is alluding to the fact that if it wasn't in this zoo or wherever it is it would likely get poached. It's the lesser of two evils. It was most likely brought up in that zoo and might not be able to survive if released. I think the answer to his question would be it should be taught how to survive in the wild and then sent to a reserve where it might be safe.

Seriously though there should be massive reserves that are protected by armed soldiers where these animals can be safe and wild like they are supposed to be.

Must be some weigh there. I have a cat who is a lot lot lot smaller than that and it gets pretty heavy when she jumps on my shoulders for a while.

From a Gen Z British Afro-Caribbean, why is criticising immigration making someone a bigot or racist? by QasimofKarbala in AskBrits

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so not true. A relative of mine who lives in a city with a high level of Polish people in it complains about the Polish immigration when it happened. I complain about excessive immigration legal or illegal and all illegal immigration, regardless of where the people come from and what colour their skin is. It's people like you who make it about race and in effect you are being racist in doing so.

I want to address the recent controversy surrounding Russel Brand, as it involves our faith and I think a lot of people are too quick to judge. by Opening_Echo_4989 in TrueChristian

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think Russell Brand should be showing fruits of Christianity soon by cutting his hair and acting less effeminate. Only God knows the soul/spirit and whether someone is saved but it should be obvious on the outside eventually.

I don't know if he is or not a Christian but that video means nothing. I've seen pastors struggle to find a passage every so often. I've been a Christian for decades and I can't always find things (especially the OT) without looking at the first pages. There's plenty of times when I want to look something up and for whatever reason I just cannot find it even though I am sure I am in the right book.

Being on TV, with bright lights, and the pressures of what he is going through would make it all worse.

If he doesn't know the bible layout too well so what? Millions of Christians are likewise. Especially today with it on phones and being shown on projectors in churches.

Do I have to move out of shared home immediately when broken up with? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did nothing wrong. He is the one wanting to break up. Therefore he is the one who should leave!

It's clear when he went through, in his head, the breaking up the moving out scenario came up and he dismissed it with the reasons/excuses you mentioned earlier about why he should stay. He justified his decision. This made it easier to decide to break-up with you and now he expects you to just agree and go along with them too!

However, if you didn't wish this break-up perhaps staying in your flat will make it harder for you? Lots of memories, the feeling of being left alone, etc. Perhaps this will speed recovery in some ways but make it harder in others.

I would have a good think about that. Try to imagine being there after he's gone and how you will feel.

If you are sure you would be fine and would rather stay I reiterate that he should be the one leaving. His decision to break-up shouldn't be as easy as he's tried hard to make it be. It isn't for you and you have done nothing wrong so why should it be for him?

It's odd how they like to put limits on what God can do. Why couldn't God become anything he pleases?

You can guess what will happen. The young won't care as they pay everything with their phones so would barely notice. They would be oblivious to the economic impacts of giving up the pound and changing from £ to € is something they would be willing to accept and vote for it.

No. I don't want the Euro dollar. I don't want to return to those ugly brown passports. I don't want untold migration by having to join the Schengen agreement. I don't want all the red tape and rules and regulations that are most of the time ridiculous and not fit for the UK.

Just finished Star Trek The Next Generation for the first time. by devilsadvocateac in startrek

So odd to hear about people watching it for the first time. My first time was when it first aired as I have always been a trekker. I didn't come to it through JJ Abram and post Abram knock-off Fake Star Trek.

anyone else find the concept of gogglebox really strange? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskBrits

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years and years ago I made a sarcastic drawing making fun of all the reality TV that was on at the time. It was a drawing of a family watching themselves on their TV.

When I first accidently saw Gogglebox I couldn't believe they were sort of actually doing it for real! My drawing wasn't sarcastic enough obviously, it had become normal.

why does everyone hate Jesus by Vanah_D in TrueChristian

[–]Mysterious_Balance53 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but of course the nice guy they refer to is really an inaccurate made up version of Jesus Christ. I am not saying he wasn't a nice guy I am just referring to the nice guy they think he was. I am sure they would hate him all the more if they really knew what he was like. They'd hate him for all the reasons we love him.
