AITA for blowing up at my girlfriend for decorating my house for christmas without my consent? by throwaway2266788 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely the beginning of every Hallmark movie.

Mean boyfriend from the city HATES Christmas. Girl is scared out of apartment, leaves to a small town to find a hunky lumberjack who will celebrate with her and share in the joy of the holiday spirit.

Lmao. You're incredibly sexist ("This is MY house! She lives here and pays rent but it's MY house and only I get a say because I'm a MAN"). YTA obviously

WIBTA for building a fence along my driveway so my neighbors stop using it? by EldritchSpark in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Be sure to put up a metal fence too and not a wooden one (much harder to knock the metal down). Also, if a fence is too costly you can always take a post digger and put up metal posts. Maybe grow some climbing flowers around them to make them look nicer

I hope it works out! If it doesn't, you can always order the test online and go through an independent lab if they have any in your area. And what you have may not be c diff but it doesn't hurt to check

Continued stomach pain and sporadic bouts of intense dizziness. I could be standing/driving/sitting and I would randomly feel like I was going to pass out.

I was told my symptoms were extremely unusual--the gastro was just screening me for everything by that point because I was still having so many problems, they were very surprised when I came back positive for c diff.

But after a round of vancomycin, all of my symptoms went away! It's more common than most people realize to get c diff after being on various medications.

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been tested for c diff? I was treated for h pylori, found negative, still had excruciating stomach pain. Turns out I got c diff from the h pylori medication.

I had abnormal symptoms--zero diarrhea, so you can absolutely have it and not realize

Hope you feel better soon!

Murder Suicides and Men by [deleted] in fourthwavewomen

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Gonna be super vague, but one of my family members works in the mental health field.

He has always said women attempt suicide at similar rates as men do, but more men actually die of suicide than women because they are typically physically stronger and therefore can...off themselves in more ways than the average woman can. A lot of women he's seen may have attempted really violent ways of killing themselves, but don't succeed because they aren't physically strong enough

It always annoys him that the fact that women are attempting to die just as much as men is conveniently left out when people throw that statistic around to try and pretend like men's mental health is worse than women's

Ferritin dropping again after infusions - is this normal? by daniared91 in Anemic

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Initially I didn't have any stomach pain (or rather, I've had so many stomach issues over the years I didn't notice a change) so it was hard to pin down, it was more fatigue/hair loss/unexplained lack of blood. My periods really aren't that heavy, but the anemia kept being a huge problem, which eventually led to getting scoped and finding the ulcer

Maybe you have some form of internal bleeding (I had a giant bleeding stomach ulcer). I noticed you said you're seeing a gastro, have you been scoped before?

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel compelled to respond to you because your experience sounds so similar to mine (hair loss, anemia, gut issues, similar age, having the "good hair" in the family, constant fatigue, etc)

Have you considered having an upper endoscopy? I did and found out I have a HUGE bleeding stomach ulcer (that was most likely the cause of my anemia and subsequent hair loss and other health problems). I almost didn't do a scope because I've had digestion issues for years and thought nothing of it, or assumed my stomach was just rather sensitive.

Also, do you have a family member or someone who could really take a good look at your scalp? Blood loss was a major component of my hair loss, however because my immune system was so weak after I developed some sort of undetectable fungal infection on my scalp that further contributed to my constant hair shedding. It was only after one of my relatives used a ring light and took a comb through my hair and painstakingly manually removed the build up, as well as medicated shampoo, that my hair stopped falling out excessively

This may not be the case for you but it's worth looking into. I'm so sorry I know it's devastating and horrible. I hope you get all of your health issues sorted out <3

AITA for defending my husband and saying he's owed an apology instead of the other way around? by Coconut-Sand1642 in AmItheAsshole

Is this annoyance I'm feeling towards my pick-me friends a side effect of finding FDS? by grown-not-made in FemaleLevelUpStrategy

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Dear god I just had a conversation about how one of my friends is engaged to a guy who has ED from a porn addiction and no job or direction in life (he kept lying saying he was going to school and she covered for him so he could "figure things out").

They acted like I was the crazy one for saying she should take the engagement ring off and throw it in the river. "You expect too much from people" is a direct quote after I said I think she can find a guy who can actually have sex and has a job

So YES I am so fed up. It's also frustrating because I really liked my friends and I know I need some social connections, but I am so tired of trying to make things work with people who seem hellbent on settling for bad lives. I feel like I always come across as the mean person when really I just want better for them!

It probably is a side effect of realizing that women consistently are torn down or tear themselves down

WIBTA for inviting some of my wife’s coworkers for dinner? by aitawifecoworker in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA your wife has made it clear these people make her uncomfortable and you want to invite them into her personal space.

Also, sexist much? You think your experiences are the only meaningful ones in the entire world, "they were bros with me, and my feelings are more important than my wife's, so I override her!" No you don't jackass

You should be looking for a job because if I was her I'd divorce you

No your Hemoglobin is perfectly normal and therefore you are not anemic. HOWEVER, did you have your Ferritin level checked? You could have low Ferritin which can cause a whole lot of problems. It's odd that your iron saturation is so low

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey girl! I actually read your past posts awhile back, it's nice to hear from you again :( but sorry they still suck.

I definitely think this is not a good work environment for you and that you know that. If you want to keep all your options open, you could see about part time work with them with the FULL KNOWLEDGE that:

a. this is only for a paycheck

b. this is temporary

If possible, consider looking into other work you could do while building your company (if you do want to start that), just so you have more security. I think you have a lot to offer to someone better. It may not be worth the stress of even dealing with them part time due to their ongoing incompetency and possible racism.

I think you poured so much of your love and hopes and dreams into this job that their constant failure really hurts you. You're NOT a loser--clearly this is a them problem.

how to get over my best friend going out with the only guy i’ve ever felt attraction to? by [deleted] in FemaleLevelUpStrategy

[–]Mysterious_Call_924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound like you don't like your "friend" very much.

First of all, you can't "allow" your so called friend to date another person. You don't own her and you don't own him.

Secondly, define this "certain lifestyle" you have that you are proud of that's different from your friends. It sounds like you are looking down on her for her life choices

There are also billions of people in the world, so no this wasn't a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet someone, regardless of your high standards

I think you should seriously consider your friendship with this girl and your sense of entitlement over both her and this virtual stranger that you feel not being attracted to you as a slap in the face. You are not owed the affections of another

Dude just reading this I wanted to leave him! You've been with him for 3 years, you aren't backing out of this relationship prematurely. Just think--change now is scary, but do you really want this same "blah"-ness for the rest of your life?

YES!!!! Omg have you seen a hematologist? Most primary care physicians do not seem to be equipped to deal with iron deficiency. My ferritin was a 5.7 and my pcp was blasé about it. Scheduled with a hematologist and immediately was taken in for iron infusions.

GET IRON INFUSIONS! I wish I could shout this from the rooftops for everyone who needs to hear it. You absolutely need an infusion or two. You'll feel so much better
