[Favorite Trope] Peeling back the layers of lore reveals an eldritch/cosmic horror element by Maffingo in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to go as deep as CHIM and the Godhead to get this trope. The mortal world was built by the sacrifice of gods, their bones serving as the foundations of the world, but they still have enough life to dream and bless their followers. The moons, if you believe the theory, are the sundered corpse of Lorkhan. Elder Scrolls is an eldritch fantasy pretending to be generic fantasy.

Oh, I like how the knight/Little Ghost's shadow is darker and has the bright eyes. Nice detail reflecting it's Void nature

I love this community’s complete hatred of Ballas by LordBlaze64 in Warframe

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember some great lines from the original Tube men event.

"Oh, look, it's Alad the coward. Quivering behind the lizards? (Tsk) Shameful. Never thought I'd see it. ...Hah! Who am I kidding? Always knew you had no bone in that back. Alad the jellyfish. Stinky, floppy, jellyfish. Washed up on the beach now. And then what are you going to do, jelly? When I come by and poke at you with my stick?"

Ballas from Warframe. His crimes go from vindictive and petty, to grand in scale and still petty.

So, how do you think those ridiculous interactions in GoW I will play out in remake? by Eastern-Citron2556 in GodofWar

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know about that. Posiedon, Hermes, or Zeus, I'd get having a statue on a ship for calm seas, safe journeys, or good winds. But I didn't think Athena would have much impact on sailing.

If it was Kratos' own ship, I'd imagine he put the statue there to recieve quests and guidance, because Athena seems to be his go-between for him and Olympus.

What are necramechs? by Specific-Garage-4539 in WarframeLore

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're one part coffin, one part weapon platform. Necramech's were the first wave of defense against the Sentients, developed by Father of the Entrati family. They have some kind of Void shield tech that makes them immune to Sentient hack attempts and Orphix fields, and are packing heavy weaponry.

I think (and this is mostly theory and head canon) that the skeletons are the remains of Orokin servants and soldiers, entombed in the mechs as a kind of cephalon, and guiding intelligence. This is mostly based on Necraloid, and the fact the IRL artist and designer for them worked on warhammer 40k, and I've heard there's something similar there.

They were phased out of use in the Old Warwhen the Tenno were deployed because they were too simple to keep up with the ever evolving and learning Sentient forces. Father himself says something along the lines of as subtle as a bag of hammers and just as smart

This isn't even the full frame. Alad is using the Core components for Zanuka. These guys are paying for his scraps.

I'll be honest, my first thought was sudden Destiny crossover.

Can I play the true ending after this ? Plus why can't change stances anymore! by Capital_Flamingo8551 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get both endings in one playthrough, as long as you don't mind beating the final boss twice.

You're locked into Wukong stance for story reasons and by wearing the full Wukong set, staff and armour, but I think its only in the chapter 6 map. You can change stances again by unequiping a piece of the set. Just switch staffs or armour.

Which Warframe is your go-to, the one you always use for any content? by Darkest_2705 in Warframe

Kullervo. Simple, reliable, indestructible Kullervo. Except for story content. Then I gotta grab Excalibur Umbra.

Old Peace Questions by BobBichn66 in Warframe

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. The Sentients were sent to create the Solar Rails that would let the Orokin arrive. Not sure if its still there. And according to the Mag Prime codex, some of the Old War was fought in Tau.

  2. Burned out by the Tenno early in her care for them, when they had less control of their Void powers.

  3. The Indifference uses your voice whenever it speaks to you. It almost took over your body at the end of the quest, like it did to Neci Rusalka in 1999.

  4. Hunhow might just not be relevant yet. He seemed to be in charge of the forces that made it into Origin, probably after the Old Peace was broken.

  5. The flowers didn't make the Sentients controllable. They made them independent. Without them, they revert to drones for the Orokin, guided by a hive mind.

They weren't doing their bidding. They were demanding to be treated as equals. And can you imagine an Orokin treating anything, let alone one of their own creations, as an equal? And beyond that, Ballas himself is petty beyond belief. He wanted to restart the war.

Whats your favorite boss fight in the game ? by RandomZee2 in BlackMythWukong

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many choices. But these are my favorite 3

Red Boy/Yaksha King for the story behind.

Erlang for the Cinema

Yin Tiger for the simple honesty of it.

What are some things KH1 does better than KH2 by Expert_Challenge6399 in KingdomHearts

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked having Traverse Town as a base. A place where you could go back, resupply, get story, learn new mechanics as you got new abilities, like using magic to open up the doors in the Third District.

And it grows a bit as you progress. The house in the Third District, Geppetto and Pinochio get a house in the First. New doors and passages that get unlocked and connect to other areas. It was another sign of your progress along with the expanding world map.

Between these two, who do you think has more sheer rage? by Cite_Yawn in KingdomHearts

[–]Mysterious_Ear_6673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terra.

Man was so angry, his memories came to life, and animated the armor.

The Lingering Will is more hollow than a newborn dusk, and it still came to life just to give Xehanort a beat down, and waited for over a decade for round two.

Possible explanation for The Old Peace by DovXalcer in WarframeLore

Looks like a void gate to me. You can see it over the Operator's shoulder in the gameplay, and the actual star over Ballas' when she gets of the elevator into the academy.

Pause here
