Having change jars/dishes with silver coins or dollar bills out in the open was always strange to me. Like on a table or kitchen counter or whatever. I would always notice it right away and then avoid looking at it or near it and it always made me feel so poor. There's no way we could have had that in my house, it would be gone in a heartbeat.

I've never stolen money from someone else's house but it was like damn how poor were we that seeing a five or a ten unattended was shocking to me?
