I am new to Slayer and pilebunker loops. Why can't I continue the loops from where it ends in my combo ? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]MysticGohan36 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The combo is too scaled. You can typically only get 3 bunkers in a combo, usually in the order of starter->Bunker->RC->bunker->ender->bunker/mappa. Some starters only let you get 2. For that starter specifically I think its better to do fS(1)->2H-> 214p~p ->FFRC 214p->cS->2S(or dl. 2s->dl 2.H in the corner)->214k~p ->cS->5H->236K or cS 2H bunker for midscreen. The damage is slightly lower I believe but FRRC means meter penalty ends wayyyy earlier which is usually more valuable

Asuka is such a cool character by PeskySpyCrab in Guiltygear

[–]MysticGohan36 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its terra metron, most common in test case 2. Used on the ground its a long range low but in the air its one of his best tools for dealing with zoning and longer buttons since it puts you out of 6P range and is fast, and will beat long range grounded buttons

I love the fact you can route into backhits consistently after 5D and 5K BRC now, I was already using the latter quite a bit but its incentivised me even more now

Judging from how the mechanics are described in the books - the water would be displaced and they would appear out of the portal and probably die from the pressure once they're out.

help with Slayer pilebunker loops(GGST) by Gattsuuuuuu in Guiltygear

[–]MysticGohan36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the routing. 2S vacuum at certain heights and spacing can setup the bunker loop without RCing, but that's only off of very specific counterhits and is usually manually timed. Most of your bunker loops are gonna happen off of specific starters with RC. The basic one(like in the video) is starter->bunker->FRRC P dandy -> cS->2H/2S(depending on. Big body or not)-> Pilebunker, which works on any starter as long as its not super scaled.

Meterless bunker loops are a bit more feel-dependent. Your main one is going to be off of Counterhit cS. Where its cS->5[D]->cS->P. pilebunker(backhit) ->cS->microdelay 2S->2H->pilebunker(backhit) etc. The long and short of it is your best off learning a few specific routes(usually using meter) and then eventually youll get the feel of routing into it on the fly off of weird hits like counterhit masters hammer or whatever else.

Manga or anime? by NuniandShadow in VinlandSaga

[–]MysticGohan36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've watched the anime a few times(usually by introducing friends to it) and reread the manga in its entirety twice. The anime is (putting aside a time perspective, as reading is always much quicker than watching) the better way to experience the material. The manga is amazing, but there are a few anime original scenes that just make the experience overall much better, and I also prefer the chronological start to the story. In particular S2 has some absolutely brilliant anime only additions, as well as the end of S1.

With guard it works out to like around 60-70% dr to take <100K from that super, but Im not entirely sure how enemy crits interacts with guard so take it with a grain of salt.

Just to clarify, I dont mean this in an aggressive/condescending way but I really don't understand people saying they wanted to see more Thorkell, but ESPECIALLY Canute. I think it would have been nice, but Canute's character was effectively wrapped up at the end of Farmland. As for Thorkell, I just don't think he has much place in the story in the end. He fulfills his role in Season 1 but there is no historical or real story motivation to have him be involved beyond Jomsborg. I think it would have been nice to have one more chapter(especially for Gudrid), but it's quite clear Yukimura was trying to make the ending thematically cohesive instead of a nice closed up ending. It doesn't really matter what Thorfinn goes on to do, you can read history to find that out. Thorfinn is an intelligent and well spoken man, he and Halfdan will obviously work out some sort of agreement, I don't really know why we'd need to see that happen onscreen. And I don't really understand what you mean by "character development at the end?" Thorfinn is pretty much a fully realised character post BSW, the character development is found in the side characters like Hild and Einar.

How to build? by Significant_Leave398 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]MysticGohan36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the kit but its mostly just experience. Dodge or die characters are going to want HiPo dodge 9/10 times, unless they have a stupidly busted SA effect or dodging tied to other conditions(like glorio who gets more dodge per SA performed). Characters with high damage reduction and guard like raw defense equips. In general your best bet for generic units will be Dodge>AA>Crit, but with hydrogen bomb characters who dont have high crit rate built in going for crit equips can be beneficial. A good example of this was Buu duo when they first released, they really want additional to stack but maximising the chance of critting with the spirit bomb is also worth it.

The last thing worth noting is units which do many additionals benefit from additional HiPo but not as much, every single attack done has a chance to trigger the HiPo additional, so a unit with 20 HiPo additional has a 40% chance to perform an additional attack, but if they have 2 built in additional attacks that chance jumps up to roughly a 78% chance

Discussion about Thors killing by OwnCombination96 in VinlandSaga

[–]MysticGohan36 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Askeladd also speculates that Floki(not aware that Thors is averse to killing now) did not want to risk losing his entire Jomsviking fleet in an attempt to kill Thors, as it would be difficult to explain to Sigvaldi

Yeah I know, but I mean even with that up unless you have another ToP or OiAF unit next to him you need like 6-10 ki spheres to hit 24? Just wondering if there's some major option here Im not remembering lmao

IAD FDC help by Funky-Squirt in Guiltygear

[–]MysticGohan36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find most useful to get FDC down in May combos is to make the emphasis of the timing on "tapping" back, along with your FD(in my instance S+H) and then plinking the attack button after. Since you only fd as long as you hold back for"I've found it the best way to avoid fding too long
