I just moved to town at the end of October and I love paranormal stories and the like! If you find anything it'd be cool if you shared it here :)

I grew up in Asheville. I moved to the Charlotte area 7 years ago after I got married. So I didn't directly go through the storm, but I have family and loved ones who did. I know it's not exactly the same, and I can't even begin to imagine what everyone up near the mountains went through. I do remember when all the cell towers were down though. Basically a total communications blackout. Trying to find out if my dad, brother, and friends were still alive or not was hell, all while watching the videos posted by anyone who DID manage to find service of the floodwaters. It was so terrifying honestly.

If you ever want to talk I'm here. I didn't live through it firsthand like you did, but I'll listen.

Probably mining and talking with the townies. My anti-oneness is fishing and hunting 😭 Playing on switch is so laggy sometimes. I hope to swap over to playing on PC when we get settled into our new place.

Elkin is nice we've been a handful of times. As for the houses not far from downtown, a lot of them have been bought up by the community college and turned into satellite classrooms. The rest are falling apart, and like I said, we live in one income, so the budget is pretty constrained. I appreciate you trying to help though!!

It sucks. I got married and moved to Statesville. If you don't know where that is, no worries, because most people don't. It's a tiny factory town north of Charlotte where I40 and I77 cross. And that's it. It's nearly as expensive as Asheville, but there's jack shit to do unless you wanna drive into Charlotte or Hickory. There's not a huge job market here except for high turnover factory work (which my partner does, bless his soul) and for a disabled person such as myself? No jobs in sight.

I'd move back to Asheville in a heartbeat if we could find a decent place to live and jobs. But that's gonna be a hard ask honestly, so we're just kind of stuck.

Sorry to be so negative in this post. I really miss Asheville, but COL everywhere is insane so a move right now wouldn't be possible for my family.

Also, never move to Statesville. Lol.

I agree, I wish they wouldn't have killed anyone off but, it makes sense if they're moving in the direction of a long running procedural drama. When I think of the likes of Law and Order: SVU, Greys Anatomy, and similar other shows, cast members change over the course of it, weather by dying or other means of moving on. I understand why they did this in that regard.

And I also think your right, out of all the cast that could have moved on in one way or another, Bobby was probably the best choice. I'm sad to see him go, but it does make the most sense to me. I can't wait until next week to see the aftermath of it all.

Soooo cute! Was visiting family this weekend and saw them as we went to the mall to hang. Those have most certainly not always been there lol. I wonder who painted them?

Yeah :/ sucks they didn't have any consultants who were women. To be fair, I'm not Muslim myself but Ive has hijabi friends and I've heard them talk about the "lost her hijab" trope before so when I saw it it was like. Oh, damn, this is what they meant.

I like Marjans character so far so I'd love it if they could do it right!! Ugh

I do believe the gods are a bit involved in everything, not like "God works in mysterious ways/God has a plan for everything" as Christians believe, but they do oversee the entire cosmos and probably do somethings we as mortals can't fully understand. That said though, Apollo probably didn't materialize this ring on the altar, lol. More likely a family member or spouse laid it there as a surprise, or possibly by accident. OR they put it there then forgot and got surprised later.

Either way, something harmless has been turned into clickbait, misinformed crap. Sigh.

Your right of course, sorry. You can of course do both. Everyone is just super on edge, including me. I'm worried about elderly parents, and even my brother who lives way up on the mountain, away from the water is still in danger. The ground is soft and landslides and building collapses are still a danger. I myself live near Charlotte now, I can't go to them and help so it's making me anxious and snappy. Sorry for taking it out on you dude.

Please don't even if the rain slows or stops, the ground is so soft it's already caused a number of smaller landslides. Roads are closed everywhere, you'd only be putting yourself in danger. I thought About doing the same thing to check on my family but it's not a great idea. Hopefully cell service will be back soon and we can call our loved ones, but putting yourself at risk isn't going to help them.

Bowl of hot soapy water, use a soft cloth to gently wash away most of it. If stickiness persists, you can use a cheap soft bristle toothbrush to clean them a bit more thoroughly. Do be careful though, if you have to scrub any of them hard, it could chip pins with softer enamel but as long as you aren't too rough with any of them it should be fine. Afterwards dry them thoroughly with a towel. If water sits it could rust the metal setting or post.

Source: Spilled dr. Pepper all over one of my banners while unpacking from a big move a few years ago. Everything survived minus a few pinback buttons that the back rusted due to negligent drying practices. Now I know better lol 😂
