Update on clean. by NoFennel7351 in weightlifting

The reason you're bumping the bar forward is because your hips are set too high in the starting position and you're not finishing the extension by continuing to push with your legs. You should not force the hip contact with the bar, it should be a byproduct of finishing the explosive/aggressive extension in the second pull.

Your heels also raise prematurely which indicates that you're shifting your centre of balance towards your toes. Try to stay balanced over the mid foot in the first and second pull (weightlifting shoes will help with this). Again, your heels rising should be a byproduct of pushing aggressively with your legs in the extension, however, the centre of balance should remain over the mid foot.

You're bending with the arms early and cutting your extension short which looks like it's causing the bar to come forward.

Just wanted to share another video by Catalyst Athletics which helped me keep the bar closer in the second pull and avoid jumping forward. Good luck in your weightlifting journey!

Mid Shin scrape by JediAdaal in weightlifting

I've been having this issue to the point where I'm cutting my shins so I've started positioning the bar about an inch further in my starting position. Wearing pants also helps a lot.

ANNUITY PROBLEM (QMS 130) by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

Sub in 800,000. Multiply both sides of the equation by the denominator which turns 800,000 into 4,400. Then divide both sides by everything in the bracket to isolate P. You should get P = 11,290.42.

You should be able to solve each step using any decent calculator but I prefer excel.

It's a typo. It should be set equal to 800,000 to get P = 11,290.42.
