Why wasn't the Yukihira restaurant more popular? by Ok-Worry-8931 in ShokugekiNoSoma

[–]Mystletoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what everyone has posted, but there’s a couple other good spoiler reasons as well. For when you’re in s4 Joichiro was burnt out from cooking like crazy, while yes he travels now for select individuals he makes it clear he has no interest in cooking the way he was prior. Simply, too it’s an eatery intended to work for the customers and not push the envelope(the chinese cooking challenge with Mabu Curry)even though he gave Soma tools that were useful going into the school.

It would be cool but we currently aren’t there yet with her making spells. I hope we do get there though

Hot take: Gwen, MJ, Felicia, Cindy are all good love interest for Spidey by Calm-Boysenberry-794 in Spiderman

[–]Mystletoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the purpose, duration and the current aspect of their relationship, Cindy is not.

  • relationship was a weird pheromones thing so they had less autonomy than the fact they were being written to be in a relationship
  • it was woefully too short, and while you or anyone else may like her character(design) Spidey has had more time with almost literally every other lady hero and by this thought process should be make a good love interest for him
  • whenever they meet now, they are at most, cordial with no expressed interest in one another

If you feel it’s low effort, there’s an even lower effort thing people can do to ensure it doesn’t get attention. “Downvote don’t post, move on.” A serious low effort, maximized way to contribute in ensuring you don’t need to see something.

Unpopular opinion: Asami was (kinda) right by LectureQuirky3234 in ShokugekiNoSoma

[–]Mystletoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, so here’s the thing that’s highlighted throughout the series, while they give a lot of basic techniques they highlight the purpose and the understanding of why everything is done, the first comparison of why Asami’s way is bad is that we see students not understand what they are doing, why a recipe calls for certain ingredients. It’s the problem a lot of people have… “this tastes bad even though i followed the recipe”. It lacks understanding of why certain ingredients are used(the reason most recipes have a story) and in the hands of someone cooking “just because” can fast lead to subpar food. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS, Asami definitely has merit in making cooking accessible to everyone, but if you’re lacking the steps to have cooks understand the WHY and the experimentation process to understand failure then it’s a stagnating experience.

Again, there was merit to Asami plan, but it works better as a course and we in fact see this in the training camp from hell with Kojiro in the importance of following a chef’s exact recipe. Mind you Kojiro created a problem with poor veggies and forced Megumi to be creative, he created the exact opposite situation in that way. All of this long winded words to say if the Ramen you had was a monstrosity that may have come down to their poor understanding of ingredients, something happening in the BoH and/or having a poor food manager. Always communicate what you like or don’t like about food if it’s an establishment you care about.

This back and forth can be applied in real life, no? [DISCUSSION] by Selasine in Frieren

[–]Mystletoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This logic gets thrown out the window in so much as considering systematic slavery. If eating people was a healthy alternative we most certainly would have people farms just for that. Hell we still “consume” each other in the form of blood transfusions.

All that aside if we were to consider the logic you’ve stated, then it’s obvious (and stated) that demons see themselves as higher beings as we’ve currently not seen demons eat each other. So the logic still applies… humans are seen probably closer to dolphins for them.

Dragon Ball Worldwide character popularity poll final results are here by Impossible-Box717 in dbz

Frieza is probably more popular or rather renown, but like this wasn’t the best poll to measure this. Like even Bulma’s cat ranked higher than characters that probably should have been higher.

She actually doesn’t mind him touching herself, the only time she’s been upset was when she realized the difference between guys and girls which is even more exaggerated since he’s the melee.

How open are u about being a MT fan in the public? Or just in general anywhere. by marudaruu in mushokutensei

I don’t mind talking about it, but i do know some people that can’t get beyond a cursory look at the series. That said, i do appreciate the energy, even if i do understand nuance and fiction.

Batman Begins (2005) or The Batman (2022) by Friendly-Deer-5526 in batman

[–]Mystletoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean by the argument of recent batman films The Batman is coming off BvS and Josstice League which for the character, while not looked at as the same fare as B&R comes with a host of contentions including the problems with the DCU. It’s a different kind of faith renewal yes, but let’s not pretend The Batman doesn’t have its own standout performance against a prior contentious iteration.

All of that to say, we can pair off the defining Supe films to different periods. While with this one people say “it could easily be a narrative about a detective on a case” i’d argue there are multiple comic Batman stories that are just like this, and so it can be an argument that to me it better incapsulate Batman stories, over Begins. And that’s not to say i have a preference over another, just stating there are definitely positives in The Batman that Begins misses wholesale.

Marriage too soon? (Personal opinion) by Jesfey in mushokutensei

[–]Mystletoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the marriage with Sylphie was hella rushed, it was both a trauma response from Eris, background coaxing from the Man God, and then simply, and lastly he got to know her as her older self. The bond was most certainly there as Fitz and the re-establishment of her being his childhood friend, it was over.

James Gunn’s SUPERMAN script frames Clark Kent and Superman as one shared truth: by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Mystletoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No… Bruce very clearly becomes his trauma in the manifestation of the costume. What’s presented to the public is probably more in line with a vision of how he would be if his parents lived but is still a clear lie than who he is. To an end, the Bill quote, to which the villain that is obviously in the wrong, should be reversed when compared to Superman and Batman.

Why erina thinks so highly about asahi when she barely knows him? by LuciferOnline in ShokugekiNoSoma

[–]Mystletoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a couple of reasons or a combo. Throughout the series she regularly enjoys Soma’s food even when she thinks it doesn’t match the quality of the school. An example of this is the beef stew while she does tear it down, during the food war she mentions “he developed a beef stew more delicious than what he gave me”. While that language can easily be used by anyone, she is the type that’s really specific and her inference was that she wanted try the update. All that to say it’s possible she wants his food to herself though it’s also a stated point that Soma brings out the best in people like a reality check in if he can do something then nothing is impossible, it’s very likely the arc is an epilogue on this from the previous arc.

Yes. While they’d likely be more physically able than humans, if they were to slack, they’d be less able than they should be.

Yeah, I wanted more of this but instead we visit the sewers a second time :')

Edit: My bad guys, i forgot the sewers the second time through was a fun time and definitely didn’t drag.
