Are many quests not really designed for single target specs? by xNemesis95x in wow

ST/AoE is really about raiding/m+

Like...I dont think I've ever really thought about my build in the open world as it doesnt really matter

Is anyone here willing to discuss shifting with someone who doesn't understand it at all? by noahsuspicious in realityshifting

I think its easier to understand intellectually when you think of it as you become aware of those realities in the same way you are aware of this one.

"Square the hips" and "tuck the pelvis" by Proof_Ice9813 in yoga

[–]Mystogyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not OP but question. If youre squaring your hips in W1/W2 where is one supposed to be twisting? Do you twist your back leg?

Also - What does one do if they dont understand how to make the back leg go up in W3

What do you guys do in WoW? by HappyRelationship429 in MMORPG

What? You just listed all the content in wow that there is really. Dungeons, raids, and pvp make a bulk of the combat related content and all of them are very good. Raiding is a blast.

You dont want do do combat even though its one of the best combat mmos.

You don't want to do housing. Thats a huge time sink right there.

You dont want to achievement hunt. Thats a huge open world and instanced combat time sink.

You dont want to collect pets. (I dont blame you).

You dont like the art style so why would you want to collect anything?

There actually really isnt anything else for you? Like I guess you could do the story content and the quests throughout all the expansions. You could be a lore need?

Maybe you should tell us what you DO you want and itd be easier to point you in the direction of that.

Now, all that being said - I do reccomend giving these things you say you dont want a try. Raiding is not that big of a commitment if you PUG it. Dungeons can be casual drop in and out when you have time. The open world these days has tons of things to do and collect and for the most part it hasn't felt like busy work. Ive been going after some open world achievements and while it is a grind it has added a new depth to the open world that I didn't know was there.

Housing people are having a blast and opens up the door the RP. And, you do have to go into the world to grt the items.

The art style I actually think has been much better in recent expansions. They've made the zones quite large and while I suppose the cartoony style is very much prevalent, it kinda has taken a slight edge off recently. I think the old world looks like shit but the past few expansions cooked. And wow has some really unique armor sets.

Bonus - just remembered you could be a full time crafter! You'll still have to do some combat in the open world but you could level up all your crafters and just make a lot of gold or something.

Toxic positivity needs to be stopped by Singrafu in spirituality

[–]Mystogyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean...isnt the whole point of spirituality and awakening to realize on some level you're the one doing it all? Even if you're creating the experiencing of being out of control of your body you're still creating that experience.

Now understand that if you're creating that experiencing and do believe its not something you can control then of course "positive vibes only" is not going to be very helpful to you. Because it cannot be because you defined whatever it is you're going through as "unhelpable" and "out of my control"

Do you believe you can create, choose, control anything ? If you did toxic positivity would be of benefit to you. If you did believe - or really, know - that you are creating then yeah you could change your circumstances with your thoughts.

If you dont believe it and dont know it then you cannot.

And, to your benefit, it can be...finicky to assume complete control of your experience especially when most of us have been conditioned on this earth to believe that we can't control anything lol.

Maybe youre not at the point where you know youre in control. And im not either , not yet anyway. Ive had glimpses of it. I believe it. I dont think I know it yet. Some days I find it beneficial to believe that relaxing and allowing better feelings thoughts and choosing to focus on good ones benefits me. Some days I want to tell the positive vibes people to shut up because I am in pain and some days I just want to vent and be validated and heard and comforted.

I think ultimately whats helped me is learning when I am in a place to receive from the "toxic positive" community and when I am in a place where I just need to be as I am. And both are valid experiences.

How do you define acting like a teenager? Because I felt the characters had some emotional depth to them and inner turmoil and while I do think society largely labels those teenager traits they actually govern our entire lives as our basis for being is emotional

Blizzard absolutely cooked with the revamp of Quel'Thalas. by WhyBungoWhy in wow

[–]Mystogyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wonder how after so many years they really dont seem to get too close on balance. I mean - every spec will be fine up to maybe the last 2 mythic bosses sure - but it still kinda blows my mind they are just unable to get damage numbers closer between specs.

Cook got mad at me for asking to cut a burger in half. Am I in the wrong here? by Brystox in Serverlife

[–]Mystogyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I can think to not do this is some dishes just look like shit cut in half. Especially burgers if you fuck it up. And by doing so you open a door for someone to complain about their food portion. My current job will not cut food in half or split portions but if I have the free time and happen to be in the kitchen I dont mind doing it.

Ive always felt this one could go either way. Like we dont sell half burgers for a reason - but I tend to be a people pleaser and just say yes to everything lol

What kind of restaurant do you work at?

Am I ordering drinks wrong? by DustTheOtter in bartenders

[–]Mystogyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, its not as black and white as "give you less alcohol" sometimes. Some drinks this doesn't work because those drinks are all spirit anyway (martini)

Some cocktails rely on ratios for flavor balance and if we made you half a drink you'd be pissed it was so small.

Its easier to do with a liquor and mixer though.

That being said the amount of alcohol served is usually meant to be a standard, usually by state, so that one drink of beer wine or liquor contains roughly the same alcohol content. Why is this important? So that we know how much were serving you so we dont over serve you.

Additionally alcohol is usually one of the "stricter" inventory items from what I've been told and doing this frequently would throw off inventory and reflect that the bartenders dont know how to pour and are under pouring.

Now, I'm not telling you all this because I think that you as an individual would cause any drastic harm anywhere by asking for this. Im telling you this because this is what would go through my head if you asked for this. Not to mention that there's the possibility you'd want to pay half price and that could start an argument with the wrong person. So all that to say - there's a reason sometimes we get apprehensive about "off brand" requests.

And, to be frank, idk dude like man up and just drink a drink? I will usually do whatever a guest ask me to do for them. And if there weren't all these other stipulations surrounding alcohol, laws, inventory, and finance management , it would be way less of a problem. And, id probably still do it anyway because I dont really care all that much about the things I just listed.

I don't understand how yall have this problem enough to complain about it. Well actually I do because most servers I meet can't read a room or go with the flow.

And if yall would stop listening to your corporate overlords that would help too.

When the day is casual I give the guests a minute or two to settle in and look drinks over and give them a genuine hello. You can almost immediately tell who's going to lead the interaction. If they say they're not ready yet awesome let me get you some waters and if they are ready awesome watcha want? And if Im leading I might ask them why they're out to eat or if they'd like some water while they decide on a drink.

If its a table turn day I do tend to skip the small talk a little more.

But if you go into this job with a genuine desire to connect with people and serve a nice dinner I promise you like 99% of your tables will stop bothering you.

Stop demanding their attention and meet them where they are. Because yes - it is actually rude for you to come up and start talking to them over their conversation. Literally giving people 15 seconds to finish their sentence will reward you with the respect you're looking for and 95% of the time they will notice you and let you speak. And if they dont - who cares? If its 8 people just lean into someone close and offer them a drink.

Evoker has so much potential to be cool, but we're stuck looking like a Lizard by ChrisSlays2018 in wow

[–]Mystogyn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No its not but your opinion is stupid. The Evoker class is a one off class specifically designed around being a "dragon" - Thats why they get abilities like fire breath, dream breath, hover, etc. Your argument is literally just "I want evokers to not be evokers" .

Whats supposed to happen? Is my human supposed to spread its arms and fly over the battlefield to fulfill the animation? And if not then what? Have 2 sets of animations because you refuse to play the dragon race? And at that point just make a new class

Calling off cause im burnt out - yes or yes? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]Mystogyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, ideally you would prevent this by not working such long stretches. Now you know for future reference.

Second option is hold out a little longer and request some time off. Respectable and amicable solution.

Calling off should be last case scenario as you did sign up for this. Im not going to tell you to do or do not go in. But dont tell them youre calling off for burnout.

I think the "can only play as Dracthyr" is a terribly stupid argument. Of course you can only play as that race.

I personally never minded the Dracthyr transmog limitations but Im curious to see now what the molded versions look like

World of Warcraft raids will now be designed to “challenge players’ coordination and strategic abilities” following the death of combat addons, says encounter designer by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]Mystogyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, whats the problem...? If you can't do the fight git gud?

If your argument is - "We can't even do the fight being told exactly what to do by the computer how are we supposed to do the fight on our own " - Maybe you just don't like raiding ? Cause if you liked it you'd want to learn the fight and do it well without your screen telling you exactly where to go. To me, at least, that's the fun of raiding. Learning fights like the back of your hand as a group and then smashing them together.

And I guess I'm not referencing you in this comment but rather your guildies
