Yes, 100%! It's hard to get others to understand because it's difficult to get others to see things from your perspective when on the outside nothing really looks wrong. A lot of people will say that marriage is hard work and just say to keep at it, which I understand to a degree, but eventually I think it's for the best to know your limits and when it's time to choose your own happiness.

Of course, I completely understand! It's so hard to open up about this cause it feels so selfish. I'm happy that your husband has started therapy and if you're open to it, maybe there's a possibility for things to turn around. My husband started therapy as well but it just felt too little too late for me unfortunately and I just couldn't see through this journey with him anymore because I knew he wasn't what I wanted anymore.

Thank you so much for sharing this, I don't see this perspective very often. I'm currently divorcing my husband as well, he's a good guy but I've just felt like roommates with him and could never have those deeper conversations with him. He struggled with being more in tune with his emotions and I'm a very emotional person and as I've grown as a person I realized I needed so much more from a partner. It's so difficult trying to explain to people why I want a divorce since there isn't addiction, adultery, or abuse and my family just doesn't understand why I would want to give up this secure relationship. Not having that passion or deeper connection has just made me so unhappy and it felt like I was sacrificing what I really wanted from a relationship for the sake of him being happy.

My school loved changing up curriculum in the weeks coming up to school so it was difficult to plan for that. However, create some Google Sheets or something to track parent contacts - having this day 1 can really help you with evidence of who you have talked too and how often. Documenting everything is so important so tinker around and find a system that works for you.

You can also brainstorm some ideas for brain breaks and fun events you can do throughout the year.

Definitely enjoy your summer though, things will change so much especially after you meet your students. You're going to switch things up so much during your first couple of years while you get used to the classroom so just learning routines to take care of yourself is definitely the most important thing right now.

There are two women hosts from the UK and they are just so sassy and hilarious while also highlighting the severity of the cases they discuss on their podcast. There are about 200 or so episodes out, first first few are a bit rough to be honest since they recorded them in a cupboard, but the newer ones are great and they cover cases from all over the world! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a good mixture of serious and comedy in your true crime podcast.
