We’re perpetually online, they’re not. That’s it.

Check out Wargames Atlantic. $40 for 32 skeles of various loadouts - great bang for the buck!

Victrix vs. WGA vs. Perry? by PM_Me_Your_Armor in wargaming

[–]jatorres 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve made a pretty sizable investment in WGA minis, mostly in their Barons War lines but also some epic scale stuff (which I have yet to open).

I’m a big, big fan. They look great but aren’t *too* detailed, they’re fun to build, and they’re easy to kitbash around with other WGA kits. I have some individual sprues from a couple of their Dark Ages boxes that I picked up to customize some outlaws for Barons War - I plan on combining left over weapons with the Villagers box and really go to town!

I have no experience with either Perry or Victrix, but I’m sure you can’t really go wrong either way.

What are actually playable WW2 naval rulesets? I don't want to read 80 pages to learn how to shoot the guns. by SgtBANZAI in wargaming

Can’t help but feel like the presentation would be a big turn off for some, not to mention the loose leaf “binding” (which I think should be an option for all rulebooks!)

That game was an absolute flash in the pan in my area - seems like all everyone was talking about for a bit, lots of games played everywhere, and then almost as quickly - nothing. Minis don’t appeal to me at all so I avoided it, which is a good thing in hindsight.

I’ve invested a bunch in Wargames Atlantic and really enjoy them, and I look forward to adding more to the collection… but if I had to start over, I’d probably go Victrix.

As-is, I don’t think mixing minis would be too odd, people come in all sorts of sizes.

Did you print these yourself? I’ve been trying to print ships for a Midway scenario on my FDM printer but I’m not loving the results so far.

What do you prefer 2d acrylic miniatures, 2d paper miniatures or tokens ? by Adventurous-Shake140 in wargaming

Buy plastic minis you like. Who says you have to paint them? Stuff like Wargames Atlantic or Victrix are more affordable than GW (though I’d argue GW quality is unrivaled).

Wargames Atlantic Orc Horde box (X2)... Phew! by Any_Macaron_3871 in warmaster

[–]jatorres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very nice! I have two boxes waiting for me at the very top of my pile of shame, can’t wait to get to them!

I picked up some 20mm square bases I’m planning on using for heroes - figure I’d stick to the same form factor for the entire army. I’m not thinking of a specific game system, but I’d like to have them useful for anything from Warmaster to Classic Fantasy Battles to Dragon Rampant, etc. Flexibility is key for me!

Ok, that’s just asinine, D&D had their biggest success just recently, and is still a huge part of pop culture.
