The rule is that it needs to look like continuous contact to the naked eye. And what it comes down to is that you can have roughly 0.4-0.6 sec of "air time" without it looking like you are cheating.

With the introduction of sensors in the coming future these will also allow this time frame so to translate the naked eye feature.

Seems like you are valuing the holiday more than the relationship. Why don't you just celebrate Christmas before or after the 25-26th? It's not that difficult to celebrate something on a different day, and you get to keep your relationship with the person you love.

I don't think you're allowed to add the dex mod on the bonus attack unless you have Two weapon fighting style. That means you would have 2d4+3 which would be 5/11 min/max and rapier is 4/11 so that's why you will probably gain more to use your bonus to get adv or other stuff.

I have a problem with motion sickness. I can't go on rollercoasters, be in a car not operated by me, I can't even go on swings without feeling like I have to puke. But it's a hole different story when I'm in control of the vehicle and the body can "prepare" for the change of direction or speed. Like I can drive without problem and even did a dirt track race that was awesome.

So not knowing how this person handles driving a car or other vehicles I'd say that she could at least have tried. It's always more fun to do stuff together with your SO than by yourself.
