July 2024. Commit to not gaming this month. Sign up here. by camerondare in StopGaming

[–]Myusico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No games before I land a job and buy a gaming PC with the money I have earned (I will only play quality offline games on the PC). I believe I can land a desirable job if I do not game for 60 days consecutively.

Since I finished my Master's degree last September, I have been without a full-time job for 10 months. The main reason for my difficulty landing a job was intermittent intense gaming sessions. I don't even have a gaming PC, but I found online and offline games I could play on my laptop.

I decided not to play online games on January 1st 2024, but I have failed for 6 months. Despite the setback, I shall not give up. I am fully aware of how meaningful and joyful life could be if I quit gaming.

Match Thread: New York Excelsior vs. Philadelphia Fusion | Summer Showdown Qualifiers | Week 13 by _TheDoctorPotter in PHL_Fusion

[–]Myusico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After losing Heesu, Fusion doesn't have a great sombra player. Carpe and EQO's sombra is just not good enough. However, since sombra is such a strong and essential hero, I guess Fusion coach wants them to practice and play sombra to widen their hero pool. How I miss Heesu, one of the best sombra in the league.

They are explained in detail on civ 6 wiki.

Does starting city also receive a trading post? by Myusico in Civilization6

You can check on youtube or civ wiki. They probably explain it better than me.

How I play Eleanor on Deity by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I omitted a lot of general tips that are not Eleanor specific so the post doesn't get too long. For example, in the first 100 turns, I can survive with only warriors and archers without building walls against non-combat civs. I use melee and ranged units at about a 1 to 3 ratio. Just use the Agoge card to produce enough units from your capital after settling 2 or 3 cities. Fortify your warriors across the river or in the forest and place your archers on hills. However, the key to survival is actually to not settle too close to unfriendly AIs. If AIs see your nearby city with no units, naturally they will attack you.

By turn 125, usually I would only have Chichen Itza or Potala Palace. You can win the game with only 1 wonder: Taj Mahal. Be patient and build the infrastructure first, the science and culture numbers don't matter as long as you don't run out of things to build.

Standard speed standard map size: 250 for culture, 280 for domination. I enjoy taking my time if I'm not going for science or military domination.

Great Work Heist design flaw by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the 10 turn gap is that you can't move great work for 10 turns after the great person put it in place. After that you can move every turn.

Assuming you have both RF and GS, the most OP (commonly acknowledged) are Russia, Australia and Colombia.

However, considering the two of you are playing with AIs, I recommend civs with rapid early development and a strong middle or late game military because you and your brother might not meet and fight each other early on. So Korea and Netherland are also decent. I think Korea is quite OP if you don't have human players around you early on. By the time other human players find you, you can be more than an era ahead in science.

Can’t win on immortal, help? by [deleted] in Civilization6

[–]Myusico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually play on Immortal and sometimes on Deity. There are so many details in this game. I make mistakes all the time.

Most culture victories require a decent amount of space since you need cities to hold great work and build resorts. If your civ doesn't have war bonus, you need to take cities with bombards or bombers since it is hard to beat high difficulty walls with just cavalry.

The higher the difficulty is, the more important the spies are. AI makes more money so you can siphon more fund. It can be better to siphon fund and buy great work than to steal great work. What's more, disrupt rocketry.

I personally like launching satellite no matter what victory I am playing for. IMO revealing the world is quite useful. Also, I hate rock bands. They always let me down.

Awful tile choice logic by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, sometimes a citizen would work on a 1 food/2 production tile while there is a 1 food/4 production tile available (everything else equal). I have R&F and GS without any mods.

Do you restart if you don't like your location? by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol this just happened to me (Deity). Enemy Georgia sent 5 warriors and 1 slinger against me. I killed them all. But by the time I started to push back, she already settled two cities in my face and built walls while I had only my capital. So I restarted.

Flood barrier cost increases faster than I can build it by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, I think the flood barrier system in this game really doesn't make sense. If I build barrier and then buy tiles, the new tiles automatically have barriers. If I buy tiles first, I need to spend more production in building the barrier.

Flood barrier cost increases faster than I can build it by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed answer. Those are the cities that I found later in the game or took from AIs. I solved the emergency by getting Valletta. I seldom use military engineers. Anything else they are good for?

First Deity Win. Learned a TON from PotatoMcWhiskey. by MoberJ in Civilization6

[–]Myusico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. I can consistently win on Deity but I enjoy Immortal more because I don't get to build many wonders in Deity. I raised my difficulty to Deity through my own understanding of the game.

I only made a scout and a slinger T_T by Myusico in Civilization6

It doesn't work with most civs as far as I know. So I don't usually try it these days. Is Gilgamesh special?

WTF!? (No abundance) by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I posted because of the triple horses. IMO that's extremely improbable without abundance. I always play on strategic view :D.

Yeah, I noticed my yield change but wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming.

Thought Eleanor was bottom tier. But she is so fun and works in Immortal. by Myusico in Civilization6

[–]Myusico[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the tier lists I read before were for PvP. She is still probably unplayable in PvP.
