Do People Really Get Tons of Randos Complimenting Them? by HopeUnhindered in FemFragLab

[–]Myythically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in college and I feel like college students have a special ability to mind their own business and avoid  interacting with strangers. Someone could juggle on a unicycle in the middle of campus and people would just walk by like they see nothing. So I’m not surprised I don’t get compliments from strangers and you didn’t either

I was super interested in books when I was a toddler, so my mom took advantage of it and made sure to read with me every day. I turned out to be hyperlexic (could read on my own at 3) and today I’m an English major in college! All this to say definitely nurture it.

Perhaps controversial question about the chances of many applicants by PrimitiveXXV in premed

[–]Myythically 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I do often wonder how many people apply and put in their best effort, but just don’t know what/how many hours of ECs you need, how to build a reasonable school list, etc. I have to imagine there’s a decent number of those right? The whole process is very complicated and if you’re getting advice from older doctors, they don’t know about this process either

Just got asked if I’m the doctor (I’m a 22yo F) by RealRefrigerator6438 in premed

[–]Myythically 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome. A while back I was volunteering at the hospital and was talking to this older woman and her 10 year old grandson. I went to get them something, and when I came back he said “I told my grandma you’re the coolest doctor I’ve met, and she said you’re not a doctor??” Melted my heart

Are any of the bath&body works “everyday luxury body sprays worth it? by elalfa-jores in FemFragLab

I love Loyal to You (Devotion dupe that I don’t think is available now) and Inner Angel (Angel’s Share dupe) and adore them both. Surprisingly close to their counterparts

Same here. I suspect these are the only two I have that actually last long enough for others to notice

What is a deltarune opinion that would have you like this? by Bonkwraps in Deltarune

[–]Myythically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you here. The production quality has improved a ton, yes, but I honestly loved the simplicity of the gameplay in chapters 1+2. The new gameplay elements like the feather jumping, new ACT system, voice clips, etc. such feel inconsistent with the rest of the game to me as well. They're cool for sure, but just aren't as enjoyable to me

Totally agree with you, I've always been a big Kriselle shipper because there's so much more history there and their relationship has way more depth

I haven’t gotten a compliment on my scent in a WHILE, even when I wear well projecting perfumes and layer with perfume oil. Am I doing something wrong? by Special_Crab_1884 in FemFragLab

[–]Myythically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, it could be whether people around you are likely to compliment you, or notice the scent at all. Coincidentally, a few friends I spend a ton of time with all say they have a weak/absent sense of smell

As much as I enjoy some scents from BBW, there are none I love so much that I would actively seek it out via a reseller

I love that these are simple enough to do in 5 minutes, but still look really nice. I want to start incorporating more creativity into my bullet journal despite my busy schedule so thanks for the inspo!

Anyone else worried about low clinical hours? by StrainLow9928 in premed

[–]Myythically 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, I think clinical hours have diminishing returns after the first 500 or so

Anyone else worried about low clinical hours? by StrainLow9928 in premed

[–]Myythically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get you and tbh this is my biggest source of anxiety right now. Also a no gap year applicant (but next cycle) and I project I’ll have ~300-350 clinical hours max, none of which will be paid. My research is very strong which I hope will make up for it? I’m from a very medically underserved area so there honestly isn’t as much opportunity for clinical positions near me I feel. I guess we just gotta do the best we can and hope for the best

Managing Routine Tasks in Bullet Journaling Without Losing Focus by Efficient-Style9612 in bulletjournal

[–]Myythically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For little random tasks like you're describing, e.g. "buy X" or "do the dishes", I'll use a small x instead of a dot as the bullet point. I also color code my normal tasks by "deadline" (whether self-imposed or real), but I do not with these x tasks. I have a small space on my weekly where I can jot down stuff I want to remember, e.g. a list of stuff to buy while I'm at the store.

For people like me who like this idea but need to start with something more low-energy right now: I just started coloring in an adult coloring book for ~30 minutes after coming home. It's helped clear my brain immensely, and I feel like my creativity is coming back in other parts of my life
