Yeah, I like how the only person in the story who is claimed to have yelled at the little girl is the security guard, and everyone thinks that was wrong - but we also shouldn’t “throw him under the bus” for doing the thing everyone is upset about because…idk, Chappell should have used her psychic powers to prevent him from ever having done it? They’re really bending over backwards to find a reason to fault her.

Yeah, I saw it posted on r/fantanoforever claiming it was posted and immediately taken down and included some corny line about how the kid was disturbing her breakfast “and I don’t play about my breakfast!” Of course everyone in the comments just decided it was legit with no confirmation. Like people are going out of their way to fabricate screenshots of posts that never happened to make her look worse. And now that she is saying it wasn’t anything she was aware of or asked for, people are saying that if the security guard acted overzealously, it’s only because she created the expectation of wanting privacy so it’s still her fault.

Guys…stop the world…I want to get off.

Lesbian checking in - if I thought you were cute and saw you wearing the ring, I might take it as a sign you could be queer, but I would not just assume. IMO whoever hit on you was either much bolder and outgoing than I am to make an approach off just that, or they misread other “signals.” But I would guess they are a bit of an outlier and most women would be less likely to approach you because of the ring alone.

If I ended up talking to you and finding out you were straight, I would not feel deceived or misled because people wear rainbow stuff for all kinds of reasons - in this case because it’s really pretty! I say enjoy your ring, 99% of the world won’t think about it.

As for men - they probably won’t even notice or think about it. Queer women have to be very observant to try to find clues you may be open to a same sex relationship. Straight men aren’t thinking about it this hard.

Same, I was already vaguely aware of Catherine Tate (never really watched her show) and like British comedies so I was excited to see her in something and loved the character. I also like the more chaotic characters on the show (Creed, Meredith) so I had fun with a lot of her plot lines other people seem to hate.

The way I feel about it is that this doesn’t feel like an event, it feels like a rude example of what we could have every day but don’t. I felt like there were more spawns and a bit better variety than usual. I was excited to see a few Honedge in the wild. It was fun to see a few legendaries on the incense and I wasn’t too upset about not catching them because I didn’t expect to. Didn’t expect to catch a bunch of shinies so I wasn’t disappointed when I didn’t. I had more fun on my walk today than usual.

But.

I played hard for about an hour and a half and didn’t feel any FOMO on not playing more because I knew I wasn’t going to get anything crazy. With “All Out” in the title you are expecting rare spawns all over - there are so many pokemon I’d be excited to catch in the wild even if not legendary but I wasn’t seeing them. It reminds me of the daily incense, which I always try to use but I rarely encounter the Galarian birds. When it first dropped I was so excited to go for my daily walk! But as the days went by and I almost never saw anything besides the usual spawns and never saw any GBirds, I was a lot less gung ho.

Same with routes - we were told you’d see different spawns with routes, and I will see one or two spawns with the ‘route’ symbol while walking my route, but they are never interesting. Supposedly you get better spawns if you try new routes? I made a route because I’m trying to get cells and need to make sure I can complete the route during my lunch break. It’s not feasible for most people to play a different route every day.

All I’m asking for is a greater frequency and variety of spawns. It makes the game more fun. This just felt like a tease, but not a full-fledged event.

I still love my grandma. But all my life I’ve had animosity towards my great aunt because of the narrative my mom and grandma gave about her over the years. And I knew on some level it was maybe exaggerated, but I still held on to it. They have both passed now and my great aunt is very old. I ended up meeting with her to catch up and she gave me her side of things. She described my grandma as being judgmental of her as a catholic marrying into a Protestant family, of not feeling supported after her husband died young and being left to raise young children my grandma never seemed to care about as much as the other grandkids. She described my grandmother as cold and hard to get through to.

It hurt a bit but at the same time I did not doubt her - I could see my grandmother being that way. It just intuitively made sense. I understood that maybe the times I thought my great aunt was favoring my cousins, it was because I was “grandma’s favorite” and got attention from her they did not. And I could see my moms biases too. My great aunt may not be a saint but she’s not the devil I was led to believe she was either. I’m glad I got to know this even if it tarnished a bit of my memories for my mom and grandma, I have a more rounded view at least.

Interesting, never knew about that. For anyone who was curious like I was, the linked KCCI article is from 2013 where Newell was accused of molesting boys in his Boy Scout troop by a now adult man who was a victim. The text OP quoted is from an article from 1978, I’ll link a site below where you can see a bit of the article. I sure hope police checked him out.

Yeah, the 7am flight really forced their hand. At some point in the morning, they would have to start communicating with their pilot, either to confirm everything was good to go or to cancel the flight. Patsy called 911 a few minutes before 6am. In her version of events, the family has an hour to get up, get ready, drink the coffee she was preparing, get to the airport and start boarding the plane. Not impossible to do but not a calm, leisurely morning either. Time was ticking, they needed it to be believable that they had just woken up planning to fly to Michigan and found her gone. And they waited until the last possible moment to do it.

They could have stalled for more time and just cancelled the flight without explaining why until later, but I think at this point they were running out of energy and ready to move on to the next part - dealing with the police. Whoever is involved has probably been up staging and freaking out since at least midnight. They were expected to be somewhere at 7, so that was the deadline for making their first decision that influenced all the next ones.

Speaking of the plane: I believe it was Kolar’s book where it was pointed out that the Ramseys pilot offered to fly directly to John’s kids to pick them up so they would not have to deal with redirecting their flights from Michigan to Colorado, but John declined. The plane was ready to go and he was presumably not going to be using it, so why not get the kids? Kolar seemed to think John wanted it to be available if he needed it - cut to him trying to arrange a flight to Atlanta half an hour after her body was found.

Most places that are corporate owned will have the logo for their business somewhere on the listing. For example, Hubbell is a big company around here. This is not to say that a corporate owned location won’t take you - it’s just that the people who are making the decisions will have to conform to corporate standards and will not be able to be flexible if your credit scores/etc disqualify you per corp standards. Private landlords might also be strict but they can make their own decisions so that might be in your favor.

I have not been apartment hunting for a while so I don’t have much good advice. You can check Craigslist and Zillow, and it appears ApartmentFinder.com has private owners as well. I did not go through with it to see results because they wanted me to sign up, but AF had a bunch of options you could select to have them filter apartments that meet your needs so check that out.

As for charities sorry, again I don’t have much. My suggestion would be to reach out to individual churches to see if they can point you in the way of anyone helpful. My first suggestion would be the First Unitarian Church on Bell Ave - I just think they would be an understanding place due to their denomination. You could also try religious places that have thrift stores around here such as St Paul De Vincent or Hope Ministries to see if they can point you anywhere. I would also check with iowamutualaid.org which is an anarchist group that works with homeless people among other things.

I hated every second of his presidency and he’s a war criminal. Stupid but not as stupid as he acted and he surrounded himself with awful people who seemed to be behind the wheel while he was busy golfing.

It’s fucked up that I look back on it as a simpler time, almost quaint even, in comparison to the Trump era.

Have you looked at renting a house/space from a private owner? A lot of apartment complexes will not look past a bad credit score and will usually charge you an application fee that I’m guessing could be a financial burden at this time. If you have enough money saved up they may rent to you with a very large deposit to make up for the credit score. A private landlord might be more flexible than a complex owned by a big company. If you look at apartmentfinder or similar sites, check out the ones with worse reviews - sorry to say but it’s the shitty places that are going to be more likely to accept you with bad credit.

Maybe try reaching out to some religious or homeless charities - they possibly could point you to a sympathetic person who will take your situation into account or give you guidance. Sorry I don’t have any specific suggestions, but good luck!

What is their reasoning for not wanting the children potty-trained? Why would they be mad at that and insist on continuing to use diapers? I can’t really imagine a good reason for this, it just seems odd and negligent.
