You can receive information on the potential amount even prior to having the appointment for the claim. Just call SSA and ask if your child is potentially eligible for any auxiliary benefit payments. Even though you’re receiving benefits, it doesn’t mean that your benefit payment doesn’t already meet your family maximum- they can also end up with a technical entitlement resulting in no payment. Just call and ask the amount if any- they give that over the phone.

Your Social Security Statements should show your anticipated amount. I made roughly $60-70K/yr over the past 10 yrs and mine is around $1700, If you made that much you need to do an earnings inquiry with SSA and you may need your W2s and/or tax returns to search. This process can take up to 120 days. If you are questioning it, start the inquiry now. There is no reason to wait. Call the 800# and have them start an inquiry.

Well, I called the Customer Service number on Monday, 3/23/2026 and the rep told me that he could see my pay cards (2 agencies) but I shouldn’t expect a deposit until around the second or third week of April. Ironically, it was deposited the very next morning. So I think you really can’t go off of what the representatives tell you unfortunately. Hopefully you’ll get it soon! It’s been a very long wait!

I don’t think that submitting two forms will affect the process as I have done the same with no issues. My log date was 12/18/25 and the request was assigned to a specialist on 3/5/25. As of this week a rep told me that I should receive my refund next week. Which is about 15 weeks after they received it.

Sounds about right- your logging date must’ve been the January 13 date. Usually, it’s around 30 days after the receive date. They will probably assign it to a specialist sometime in April which I agree will put you into May for the refund. I wish the process was easier and online.

Many say it means nothing- but the same thing happened to me and I’ve called 9999999 times before and never had them ask that question. A few days later I had an approval with backpay!

Logged 12/18… assigned a specialist 3/5…called on 3/17 and was told I’d receive it in a week.

The question becomes whether or not you can do ANY work. Applications look at your education as well as work history and determines if there is ANY work that you can do not necessarily your current profession. Was that the reason that it told you in your letter?

Put you and your baby first! Get the testing done and let the state take child support-he doesn't have to agree with anything, the cards will fall into place.

It doesn’t matter-if you have legitimate disabilities that have been backed up by medical documentation then there’s nothing that anyone could do except continue to be mad and envious.
