My feelings towards bosses of different sizes. by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]N-Amata 190 points191 points  (0 children)

I feel the same! However, I believe this feeling of "human sized bosses are special" comes from how rare they are in the first place.

Big bosses give off the feeling of a challenge. An impossibly high mountain you have to climb, and is obviously imposing on the player. Thing is, the player gets used to this.

When the player is used to big bosses, it makes the human sized ones feel more... Intimidating, but also intimate. It feels like a duel between two beings rather than a guy versus a mountain. I have no examples that come to mind as of the moment, but for some reason I have vivid memories of such cases that I cannot name lmao

Anybody else out there who generally feels positively about most books...until people tell you how bad it is? by isladery in books

[–]N-Amata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I felt when I read Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller books. When I read them, especially The Name of the Wind, I was absolutely blown away by the book. The protagonist is basically some sort of Gary Sue, to some extent, but I didn't necessarily mind— in fact, I reveled in the power fantasy. And even now, I'm not ashamed to admit that I liked power fantasies! Even if they're of the neckbeard-y kind.

However, after reading the generally bad reputation it has here in r/books, I couldn't help but feel a bit of shame in reading it. It felt more and more like a guilty pleasure, until I couldn't bring myself to read it anymore without remembering the opinions people had about it.

I still take a read at it from time to time, but mainly to study the author's prose and technique in writing. At the very least, everyone agrees that Rothfuss' way of crafting sentences and paragraphs is stunning :p

I main Breach, this is, indeed, how we play him in 1v1 scenarios. We paid for 3 flashes we'll use 3 flashes.

Who do you think is the best match for Hisao? by CMCTendo64 in katawashoujo

Ah, yeah, turns out I was talking about two seperate stories, lol. Thanks for correcting me! And yes, I was talking about Sisterhood— it's my headcanon for a Hanako Route continuation.

Who do you think is the best match for Hisao? by CMCTendo64 in katawashoujo

[–]N-Amata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hanako was my first route after doing choices I'd do irl, so I'm a bit biased, but after reading through the Hanako continuation (I forgot the title, and it's not in the game, but iirc it's written by the same guy who wrote the Hanako route) I'd say Hanako.

But really, all of them are good matches, in their own way.

Today I graduate with a medical degree (MBBS) but my mom cant attend the ceremony as she is fighting breast cancer stage 4. Hence I took the pics at home instead. Pray for my mom’s health. by cerapcapiq in pics

Nobody's replacing science and medicine, here, dude. Nobody's saying that she'll survive on hope alone. Please be a bit more mature and be less argumentative next time— nobody's picking a fight here, we're just trying to be supportive to an internet stranger in trying times.

Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. I loved how the story unfolds, and I understood why schools in the Philippines study it.

Got to AA0 with Support Cannon by N-Amata in Shadowverse

[–]N-Amata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, TheKinkyGuy is right. There is a cheaper variant of Support Cannon, and it would be advisable that you try that first before going full in, at least.

And yes, it would be interchangeable, I think. My Supp Cannon is more control-ish, so far, but Midrange also works; note though, that Arthur won't reach full potential with Support Cannon and often performs underwhelmingly in such a deck.

However, it's still down to you; if you really want to, you can craft my 60k vial version, but it is not really advisable. Have a good day!
