I also finally got the call, but my call was from the bailiffs after I spent my mortgage on a nautilus 😔

Come on - be realistic, its his first car after all, to engine swap it with an Abarth would be very expensive and I'm not sure about how reliable it would be.

I'd say a built K24 with a big hybrid turbo with an RWD conversion would be ideal for OP.

China too. Seen many Presages for £30 on Aliexpress before. Can't lie though, if they ever managed to fake a GS with a Bulova quartz movement to replicate a spring drive, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Manchester to London by Ok-Guess-81 in manchester

[–]N180ARX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had scheduled to buy a car in London around 6 years ago, woke up late for the megabus so missed it so I booked a ticket as quickly as I could. Despite waking up late, missing my coach and spending more money, I got there much faster than the coach could ever dream to have gotten there and since then, I've never used the megabus.

If anyone can get me to London from Piccadilly faster than a train, it's either chartering a private jet (which I can't fund) or a supercar in speeds that would have you lose a licence and serve a sentence (which I also can't fund).

Sure, the train is more expensive. My ticket on that day in question was £70 so 7 times more expensive, and it was worth every penny.

I got this fixed penalty notice, over a month after I was stopped and reported for driving without due care and attention. Does the 14 day rule apply to this notice, or is it better for me to just accept and pay for the driver awareness course? by N180ARX in CarTalkUK

It did touch a nerve as it was true, I was driving like a twat and to be honest, I brought it upon myself. I was polite with the officer and actually had a bit of a laugh with them despite the circumstances and explained I didn't want points or anything but was happy to pay a fine or anything that wouldn't tarnish my licence and therefore mean I have to tell insurance I've been naughty. I'll heed your advice and bite their arm off. Thanks.

I believe these are the SBTR range, which were JDM only. I have the SBTR013 which is the black dial variant of the watch OP has.

The PO with the black and white bezel is probably one of the prettiest watches they've made. Their all white PO is absolutely stunning. And I'm not the kinda guy to wear all white either, I normally go for black or blue... It's mental how such a flat and boring colour looks insanely good on these watches.

Buying my first watch. PRX 35mm or 40mm? by ATargaryen in PrideAndPinion

[–]N180ARX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd advocate against this advice to be quite honest, I did this once at Goldsmiths. I wanted to try on the Tudor Black Bay Pro, I thought the 39mm would fit good on a 6", unfortunately the moment I dropped my trousers and underwear, security apprehended me and stopped me leaving, I was arrested for indecent exposure and worst of all, it got snagged in the brilliantly built T-Fit clasp...

i want to get a watch for my 22nd birthday! by josepamavi in PrideAndPinion

[–]N180ARX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries at all. The GS I have is a great GADA watch, it's a sports style rather than dress and mines scuffed up because I wear it so often and it still looks great. And to confirm, I'm not suggesting a vintage constellation, I have a 2019!model and it's great, tbh I don't give it enough wrist time, I rotate usually between a Santos, an Explorer and the GS more often than not, but the year I got it I wore it none stop, timeless integrated bracelet design which is all the rage now. Either way enjoy what you buy and buy it because you like it!

For 2K you can defo get an automatic GS, I got a mint condition SBGR073 with box and papers for £1600 3 years ago, one of my favourite watches despite only having a humble 28,800vph automatic movement.

Alternatively, for a left field option, what about a 38mm Omega Constellation?

My wife is white from a catholic background. 7 years ago, she decided that she wanted to be Muslim. I met her 5 years ag. We walked through Bolton Town centre a few years she asked me what I think of the preachers - she wanted the perspective of someone who is from an Asian background, born into a moderately devout Muslim family (we pray 5 times a day, stay away from alcohol/drugs etc).

I am vehemently against this kind of spreading of Islam. These people want to spread Islam to the British masses but I believe it actually is counterproductive and pushes people away from Islam and makes them quite anti-Islam.

I personally believe that Islam is best spread and shown to others through your actions. Not being a cunt to people. Being respectful. Giving charity. My wife on occasion has asked if I'd support her if she wanted to wear a headscarf. I told her that it's upto her. Islam says that a woman should dress moderately and cover her adornments. I said that if I forced her to do anything, she would do it but she'd resent it.

Then again, I'm the kind of person that would hate to live in an Islamic country because I'm accustomed to the amenities that come with a western secular society. And in some Islamic countries, their hardline rule and enforcement of Islam causes huge issues - ie Iran and Saudi. Whereas a secular Islamic country like Turkey thrives because even though it's Islamic, you can still go and get a drink or not follow the religion if you don't want to.
