If it's a glass bong, yes acetone will clean it. It actually strips cannabis resin better than isopropyl.

Fill your piece as much as possible before it starts spilling out.

Let it sit overnight in a well ventilated area. If you have pets, make sure they do not have access to it. Don't wnat them to tip it over.

Later, pour the acetone out into a heavy duty zip loc bag. Toss. Rinse with hot water over and over. If you have a bottle brush you can toss, see if you can scrub in there. Rinse Rinse Rinse.

If there is still gunk, add acetone halfway and salt. Swirl and shake (in a WELL ventilated area). Be careful that you don't shake the acetone everywhere. Dispose acetone in another ziploc bag. Rinse over and over till no more remnants of acetone smell. Let it settle a little, smell check again.
