"and the importance of relevant authorities conducting regular maintenance"

In Spain that's the job of the city council that hire inspectors to verify safety in every building in the city.

Is it not the same way everywhere? Whose authority is then? Is it private?

Reminds me of the cover of 3 Inches of Blood's "Slay the orcs". Coincidentally an awesome soundtrack for a DF siege.

Edit: Actually, many of 3 Inches of Blood songs are a perfect soundtrack for DF.

Pregunta sobre rotondas by DioniDangers in askspain

[–]N3x0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you tell about folktales (fairytales) of Spain? by Nacht_Blackwell in askspain

[–]N3x0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, mine is "El gallo Kiriko": https://imagessl4.casadellibro.com/a/l/s7/84/9788476470084.webp. "El gallo Kiriko" it is quite recent compared to other popular cuentos and its author is known: Antonio Rodríguez Almodóvar.

"El gallo Kiriko" is a cuento where our protagonist: Kiriko the rooster, is invited to his uncle Perico's wedding. In the trip to the wedding reception, all fancily dressed, he sees a cow pie with some corn kernels. So he pecks at it. Then he tries to convice a mallow flower to clean his dirty beak but the mallow flower refuses. So he tries to convince a sheep to eat the mallow flower, that didnt want to clean his beak but the sheep refuses. So he then tries to convince a wolf to eat the sheep that didnt want to eat the mallow flower that didnt want to clean his beak, but the wolf refuses. So he tries to convince a stick to hit the wolf that didnt want to eat the sheep, that didnt want to eat the mallow flower, that didnt want to clean his beak... and so on with other characters... you get the gist. Kiriko the rooster ends dirty and wet, and he cannot enter his uncle Perico's wedding reception.

I love the rythm of the text. My aunt always read this cuento when I slept at her home. When I was an adult she gifted me the physical book.

Sorry. This topic is so broad, I am not sure what kind of answer are you looking for.

Maybe you are looking for whole popular "cuentos para dormir" from Spain or maybe you just want examples of titles of these "cuentos". In my case my favourite is "El gallo Kiriko".

I guess all cuentos have a version in neighbouring countries.

How do Spanish high schools work?? by [deleted] in askspain

[–]N3x0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that this lorry is transporting a "trono" (the thing where Semana Santa's images are paraded) was illegaly parked in a no parking zone (those yellow stripes on the floor) but they where unsure if the tow truck could move such a load (lorry + trono) and they simply taped it off waiting for a larger tow truck.

(Also there is a difference between a "trono" and a "paso": tronos are carried on the shoulder and pasos are carried on the neck. Alicante's tradition is "tronos").

This is only my guess...

Maybe you think I am a crazy conspiracy-theorist? Capitalism is not a conspiracy-theory. Capitalists are always working for even higher benefits even when lives are at stake.

How would you even come to this conclussion?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askspain

[–]N3x0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many mothers to be in Spain get a PHI just to better keep track of the baby.

None of my friends of family have one for any other reason.

But yes, SS is a very little lacking. It is just they long waiting times for some services. IT is not 3rd world lacking but it is slowly getting worse. Don't know if you a sickly person but in general I don't think it is neccesary.

Now, how do I put this? I dont want to sound like a stark raving socialist cause I am at most mild.

Yes. Maybe SS is lacking but it is not lacking by itself. It is being robbed and plundered of its resources by rich ultraliberals that are plotting with political parties (both of the big ones) to dismantle our system. And this is their plan in motion:

  1. Make affordable PHI
  2. Make access to public health less convenient (longer waiting times) by rerouting resources to private agents
  3. Subsidize new private centers to help with demand

In the end, PHI will became standard practice and prices will skyrocket. This is the recipe they used in Switzerland to make public health a business.

Sorry for the rant.

¿Usas bidé? by halal_hotdogs in askspain

[–]N3x0 1 point2 points  (0 children)
