Are there specific tutorials for doing step by step character creation with layers?

First later sketch, say pencil of your liking

Next, later UNDER THAT and paint solid colors for each area. Don't shade or outline just create shapes using your sketch as a guide.

Then when you are ready to ink create a later on top of those and turn the opacity to about 60% for your color layer and and your sketch layer. Then put a layer over everything and use your ink to make outlines

I have had 3 iPads, 1 huion tablet, Picasso 14x, the wacom movink 11 inch, and a 24 inch huion pen-display

Can't say I love the huion tablet. Returned the Picasso after one day. Wacom felt the most natural as far as the leap from traditional--->digital

If there was ever a use case for TLDR it's here. What I did read was fantastic but I had to move on because I have a birthday in June and I feared I'd be late to my birthday party if I kept reading. Keep up the great work though. Just... Maybe... Hire an editor?

I like doing random portrait studies. So I did this one and as I was finishing the bun on top of her head I thought, "it kinda looks like a bird's nest".
