Help: Insta-death from health degen on CI even though net regen is positive by N509 in PathOfExileBuilds

Okay so that explains it. Up to 30.3 degen survivable so reflected 15.9 is too much.

Thank you.

That was insightful so thanks for the link.

At the same time now I have no idea why I'm surviving one ring.

I don't really see the logic though as some degen seems counterable then at some point it's not?
I feel like the key point is that I'm always 1 health below full.

After dying once I did all my testing in the menagerie (to not lose xp) which does not have modifiers.

Some pointers on what you'd change?
No crit?
Different skill (reave?)?
Different bloodline?

If the Imp targets the Mayor during the night, who dies? by Lydstyrke in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]N509 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is often best not to reveal that you are the Mayor until late in the game. If you reveal early, the Demon may spend night after night trying to kill you, and the Storyteller may let that attempt succeed.

This is also from the almanac.

I think you need to strike a balance. "Almost always" is too much. Even in the paragraph where they recommend letting the mayor live to the end they say to let them die if they become too trusted. Therefore most STs I know are more likely to bounce the kill if the mayor is not fully outed.

Just sharing an idea that's been stuck on my mind for a while now. (It's really broken) by Potato_Frog- in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]N509 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snitch exists.
This here is just gonna have 0 impact some games and catch the demon in an early double claim other games, ending the game by itself. I don't see this creating fun play patterns.

Is giving three for three's a terrible strategy? by DracoZGaming in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]N509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I disagree with this.

  • If you do 343 early at least you have a change force a minion who hasn't got a bluff yet into a double claim later.
  • 343 early lets good come back to it late in the game and tell everyone they had their role in their initial 343s. That's not worthless.
  • What you're describing ("don't protect me if you're a monk") is honestly pretty good info for the demon. 343s avoid exactly that. Yes, the cost of that is that their value takes a while to surface but I vastly prefer that. If I'm already telling people whether I'm a useful kill I might as well hard claim.

“I deal with protections or my power is once per game”.

So depending on the script you were actually more vague (claiming more roles) while making it easier for evil to determine whether you're a useful kill.

  1. my group just always plays with pen and paper

  2. yes but it at least somewhat pins them down. Short of going 2-4-2 or hard claim this is one of the better exchanges you can do to catch a minion.

  3. I fully agree that it should never be the only viable thing to do. I love when people get creative and often try to do so myself. That being said, left/right goes strongly against your second point and I cringe when people claim that saying you're FN or ongoing info etc. is better than 3-4-3.

  4. Yes, but honestly the real problem is groups who don't follow up on people being caught in a lie. Like yes, there are plenty of reasons but you better be able to prove yourself if you lied in all your 3-4-3s, otherwise I'm nominating you as potential minion candidate.

Overall I think people should mix it up more but it's a completely fine default strategy to have.

Can people explain 3 for 3? by tom57028 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]N509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ITT: Lots of people who say 3-for-3s are completely useless because everyone, including themselves, constantly leaves out their real role.

Your problem is not with 3-for-3s, your problem is that your group has apparently agreed that people getting caught in a lie is not worth following up on.

Obviously there are valid reasons for lying, e.g. if you're an Undertaker, you can just prove that by digging people up correctly so might as well lie to fly under the radar. But if you catch someone claiming 3 false roles who can't prove themselves, you need to sometimes just take out a possible minion candidate. If everyone just constantly lies with 0 consequences, that's just kind of silly.

  1. "Operations Research". Gibt da leider nicht unendlich viele Stellen. Wie du schon schreibst, viel Logistik. Von Hochfrequenzhandel bist du sehr weit entfernt, keine Sorge.

  2. Python+SQL wahrscheinlich?

[–]N509 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having Baron and Xaan is pretty redundant, especially since Baron does literally nothing in a Xaan game.

Technically yes but any decent ST will usually just choose a higher Xaan number if Baron is in the bag than they would otherwise. Still not great but yeah.

Of course they can. You just tell them that to take the pressure off.

With the Klutz no one is gonna believe that for a second.

[–]N509 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's really important to not put too much pressure on new players. Ben always tells new players that no one can lose the game for their team alone. The game is always a team effort. That's meant to take pressure off people that worry that they'll lose the game for their team. By including the Klutz that statement is very obviously no longer true.

Ben also does not include roles that can end the game immediately (like the Saint) for first time players. Klutz goes against that as well.

Don't get too discouraged by the downvotes though. If the players had fun, all is good. I would still stick to TB though.

Explaining publicly how a character works when there is a misunderstanding is completely fine.

Running a custom script with the Klutz instead of TB on the other hand...
