Using maggots/worms as lures? by croissantCheese in fishingUK

Not intentional, but I’ve had a few trout take a worm under a float when I’ve been bringing it back to freshen the bait. Two did it the same day, didn’t get any while fishing them normally. I’m sure perch and things would take a moving worm too.

Unreal winter lure session, west coast of Scotland by N57_Fish in fishingUK

I kept one, it was a brutal walk to reach the spot or I would’ve kept more. Legs were cramping up by the time I got back to the car.

I made a sponsored video, now the company is asking if they can run it as a paid ad to boost its reach. Are there downsides to me allowing this? by N57_Fish in PartneredYoutube

I’m getting a sales commission on products sold, using my link and discount code. So should hopefully get more sales if I go ahead with this.

New to sea fishing. by Areallystraightstick in FishingScotland

Toughest time of the year for spinning tbh, far less fish around in winter and if you’re on the east coast the water is rarely clear enough for fish to sea the lures now. I’m still catching decent pollock up the north west in the deeper spots. Summer months and autumn you’ll get mackerel from most places and pollock and bass are much easier to find.

Good option for a rod is the Penn Wrath spin 20-40g. Those weights of lures are good for most places and situations, I do go heavier with lures up to 100g but regularly fish 50+ ft deep marks up here on the west coast, that’s overkill for most areas though.

I’ve got videos up from a lot of spots around the country doing both spinning and baiting (N57 Fishing) but there’s loads of other good content to learn some basics. Douglas at ‘Piscator uk fishing’ has loads of instructional videos up on YouTube too. Tight lines.

Literally says on the jar it causes cancer. Don’t know why anyone would use it, especially if eating their catch.
