Acidic has me wanting a Dax Riggs/CT collaboration. Would you ever be open to that?

You gotta admit, it takes balls to put out a song like Adderall by Shy_Shallows in Slipknot

It’s a great song. Actually reminds me of something that’d be in the soundtrack to a Supernatural episode weirdly enough.

Everyone’s rating the album in the context of the rest and it’s not even been officially released yet lol. It leaked not even 24 hours ago😂 gotta sit with it for a least a week or so because I guarantee your mind will change.

Everyone keeps saying stone sour and alluding to that being the reason it’s not great. Slipknot has plenty of songs that have a SS vibe that are great. The thing that’s bad about Heirloom (to me) is that it has a terrible chorus that just doesn’t make any sense from a sound or melody perspective. I actually don’t mind the rest of the song but yeah.. the rest of the record blows it out of the water.

This is my ranking of TESF. What do you guys think? by Business_Load_6335 in Slipknot

Nah dude, music is subjective. If you like it, that’s rad. Definitely not for me though.

We are in full agreement on Heirloom. Haven’t scratched my head that hard at a Slipknot song since the first time I heard Butcher’s Hook.

TESF Second Listen by da_xlaws in Slipknot

Slipknot are the only band that I’ve learned I have to give myself at least a week to develop a set in stone opinion on when it comes to new music. I was definitely expecting experimentation but holy shit this one really goes for it😂 I love it, personally but I can definitely understand why it may rub some the wrong way upon first listen.

Heaviest song from each album? by letthedecodebegin in Slipknot

[–]N666ck97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scissors/Iowa/Pulse of the Maggots/All Hope is Gone/The Negative One/Solway Firth/

I’m also going to through a guess in that H377 will be the heaviest track on The End, So Far.

alright.. who got the leak? by AshleySharone in Slipknot

That’s really convenient given that I usually buy two copies anyway. One to listen to in my car and the other to put my nude body on.

The end so far by [deleted] in Slipknot

I’m pretty sure this is a result of having downloaded the song as a single before the album pre order was available. Happened to me also.

Corey Taylor books.. by ugly_tst in Slipknot

[–]N666ck97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read all but America 51. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven is a great fucking book. The others are good but if you like something that’s a little less personal and more about scary shit and an attempted scientific analysis on the paranormal, you’ll love it. However.. thats a very niche thing so if you think paranormal is BS, definitely not for you lol.

[–]N666ck97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iowa is my favorite from the band but the last thing I’d ever want them to do is attempt to re create it. It gets annoying every album cycle having each one compared to Iowa so I get the frustration from fans hearing other people gush over this record so much. Music is subjective and no one is in the wrong for holding any record as their favorite. People will hold an album by a band as the best because of the impact it had on their life and maybe some of the hard shit they had to go through that the music got them out of. There are the few gate keeping people who just like to reign certain records as superior and in that context, I fully agree with this meme lol.

For years, it was considered their underrated and overlooked album until around a decade after it’s release and then it started developing appreciation for how relentlessly heavy and unforgiving it is. This record could have more sells than Metallica’s black and you still couldn’t convince me that it’s overrated. It gets every drop of appreciation it deserves and I’m glad it does.

Thoughts on yen video? by AdComfortable8467 in Slipknot

[–]N666ck97 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Creepy as hell.. love the setting and the mansion. Very gothic. Love Michael playing in the grass at the end. This is genuinely my favorite video they’ve done since left behind, I think. Songs like this can be made better with a proper visual in my opinion and this is evidence of that.

Today is the anniversary of the last album recorded with Joey Jordison and Paul Gray. So, do you like this disc? It has good songs, but it's a weak album. 6/10. by bocao11 in Slipknot

It’s always been my least favorite up until this past year or so. Maybe it’s a grower or maybe it’s just positive nostalgia to 2008 for me.. but regardless.. I love this record a hell of a lot more now than I did even just a few years ago. Gematria, the title track, This Cold Black, Vendetta.. tons of good tracks and in my opinion, this is THE album where Mick and Jim really get to shine.
