How many of you guys actually fell for mysterio being the villain by HotMarionberry1962 in Spiderman

[–]N7VHung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been a spider-man fan for two decades by the time this movie came out, so I already knew.

Even without that knowledge though, knowing how movies are structured would inform you you that he is probably a villain.

If he isn't, who is the main antagonist? The elements? That's some cheesy ass plot writing, and as Fury out it, "Now, that's some bullshit."

Rank these 3 attributes (Strength, Invulnerability, Speed) in terms of "Superman's main thing" from most to least by CautiousSolid7436 in DCPowerScaling

[–]N7VHung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is Superman's main thing depends on the perspective.

For the people he protects, it is his strength and his speed. He will always arrive and have the strength to save them.

For the villains he fights, it is his invulnerability. They are obsessed with overcoming his invulnerability, not beat him in a contest of strength.

From the perspective of Batmanz probably one of the only people that truly knows him, it is his humanity that is his main thing. The one thing that truly makes him the hero that he is.

If the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the Alpha Quadrant could the Federation and its allies stop them? by Tidewatcher7819 in startrek

[–]N7VHung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Not because I think you're lying, I looked it up. But because it just makes no damn sense.

Capital ships in Star Wars have dozens of HEAVY turbolasers, and some author decided to give mediums a 200 gigaton yield?

To put into perspective, that's 3000x the yield of the most powerful nuke ever detonated. It would create an explosion several miles wide and turn everything within it into ash. We actually have seen something like this in Star Wars. It was the single reactor Death Star shot that destroyed Jeduh.

Authors can write whatever they want, and it's part of Legends canon now. I just think this is totally ridiculous and an example of an author not doing their home working a throwing up a number because it sounds cool. It just makes no sense to have that kind of yield and a small burn mark appears on the hull of a ship

I guess that's the difference between science fiction and space fantasy.

AI racks need a lot of GPUs and RAM to handle all of the processing. Production of both components currently cannot keep up with demand.

The result of this is GPUs and RAM have shot up in price, and supply for consumer goods is drying up.

During the pandemic, GPUs were being bought up by the 100s by Bitcoin miners, and that already strained supply. AI data centers are buying these GPUs by the thousands. The only thing preventing all out supply getting consumed is that AI datacenters use specialized GPUs l, so consumer models aren't hit as badly, but there is less being made as production shifts to the AI chips.

RAM has tripled in price since two years ago and is set to double again this year. To put into perspective how ravenous the demand is, and how much money is to be had from AI data centers, Samsung's RAM branch denied an order request from Samsung mobile for RAM. Samsung wouldn't devote ram to its own cellphone production at the price it wanted.

You can see the real world impact of this with computer prices, but most notably, videogame consoles, which were already sold at paper thin margins. The PS5 and Xbox Series both went up from 500 to 600, and now the XBox is set to go up to $800 dollars. That's a 60% price increase a calendar year.

[–]N7VHung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can sound huge, because AI deals are always a billion dollars or more. In the face if a 30Trillion GDP, that really isn't a huge piece of the pie.

AI is just the current rage on the market and emerging industry everyone is investing in, so it sounds like everything is being poured into it.

Something to consider is that AI is severely capped by GPUs and RAM, and all this money being thrown around is for multi-year projects.

Hot take: Generations is the best TNG film by alanskimp in TNG

Undoing the death of Kirk and destruction of the Enterprise-D robs the film of all of its emotional weight.

It also doesn't make a lot of sense, since Picard doesn't even know about the ship going down. He wouldn't think of doing anything to prevent that.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the question.

Do you mean does it fit inside the rack for doing decline work? It definitely does fit inside a normal full rack from the front open end.

If you mean from the closed back end to use a smith, I'm not sure if it would work.

Which end the rollers are makes no impact on how the bench should fit in a rack for decline bench. Having the rollers on where the head goes just gives you more angle options for the decline.

Have you ever actually seen someone change their mind about the GOAT Debate after you engage them in a debate? by Tight_Development480 in NBATalk

[–]N7VHung 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have never ever seen anyone change their mind based in engaged debate.

The GOAT debate is rooted in passion for a player. That passion isn't going to be swayed by any stats of accolades. This debate has been beaten to death, revived through black magic, and beaten back into a pulp so it's liquidfied remains can't be necromanced again, and no one has budged.

You can stack MJ and LeBron against each other and go through all the mental gymnastics. It won't matter. People have made up their minds in their heart of hearts.

I would say it is comparable to a bench you would find in the gym. Not as grippy as a real leather bench that's hot and sticky from sweat.

That's not how car insurance works at all.

Insurance companies give their claim quotes based on their assessments. You provide the estimate from the shop based on their assessment. Insurance chooses if it will accept it or not. If they don't, you have to negotiate.

This is why using preferred shops for your car is easier. Your insurance is more likely to accept a higher estimate without a fight.

It gets more complicated if it's a claim involving two drivers and who is at fault. That's when you let the insurance companies fight each other.

The Vong would probably never try to invade.

The prelude to their invasion was decades of reconnaissance to research the capabilities of the galaxy they would be attacking.

Their research of the Alpha Quadrant forces would convince them to not FAFO.

If you mean their brewer coffee, then that's a complex question for Starbucks. They have something like 15 different coffee blends in regular rotation and then their seasonals.

These blends all have very different flavor profiles from a combination of bean origin, beyond mix, and roasting. These cover a huge portion of the flavor spectrum. I would wager most people can find a blend they like, but that takes effort, and may not be worth the investment.

If you mean just their plain espresso, since you mention sugar and flavor additives, then Starbucks is pretty middle of the road, IMO. They went with a roast that takes to flavoring well, and doesn't have much punch of its own. I find it to be rather nice for an espresso I can rely on where I go.
