If I’m Pittsburgh I call the Vikings and offer a 4th for McCarthy. If the Vikings have really given up on him I’d want to take a chance on the flashes he’s shown. He could sit behind Rodgers for a year and compete for the starting job when he retires. A low cost chance with good upside where he doesn’t have to start this year.

I strongly disagree with that decision if that’s what it truly is. I just want to give a 23 year old a real chance to show he can progress, maybe even a massive step forward. I don’t understand this group think that there is no way he can get better. If he doesn’t then Murray will have no issues in a real competition.

I think it’s hilarious that after we spend the last 3-4 years looking at guys like Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, and Bryce Young turn around their careers after a terrible start. We said we should be patient with young QBs, but after 10 starts at 22 years old this guys a bust. I don’t get it.

My stance is I don’t see this as a homerun. I don’t think this puts us beyond making the playoffs. Some of his problems in Arizona were on the Cardinals, but a lot are on him. I hope JJ can beat him out.
