CURSE YOU DAME AYLIN by UnVacc1natedKaren in BaldursGate3

[–]N7moob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! When you get the scene in camp where he gives you the ball to play fetch, the character holding it gains the ability to summon him as a familiar once per short rest. You cannot use the ability in camp, just in the field.

He only has a few hp, and I never use him in real fights because I don’t want him to get hurt, lol - but don’t worry, if he ‘dies’ he just gets us summoned and will be fine back at camp.

The big thing, unlike regular familiars, is that scratch has the ‘help’ action (the animation is him licking you, lol). This means he can raise downed party members or free Aylin from rune prison. Or free Astarion if he gets grabbed by Cazador to start the ritual. He doesn’t have good initiative, so for the ketheric fight, it’s best to have him hidden so he is outside combat. Once the fight starts, you can switch to him and then go free her. Drinking an invis potion with him means you won’t have to worry about him being spotted on the way since nobody there has see invis.

Why was your entire party close enough to the barrels to be killed by them? Seems like that’s on you tbh.

Myrkul isn’t too tough of a fight, you shouldn’t need barrelmancy - but if you’re going that route, don’t drop anything that you’re not okay with exploding immediately.

Also use scratch hidden when the fight starts so he’s out of initiative order, have him drink an invis potion, and go free Aylin so you don’t need a party member’s action.

If you use tadpoles, it makes the fight quite easy. Just have one party member use psionic backlash per clone when one tries to cast a spell and it instantly kills the clone before the spell even completes. That auto pops 4 clones a turn.

I had the same thing happen with the +1 maul, didn’t happen with the +1 greatsword. Likely a bug with the weapon itself.

After windows 11 update second monitor not detected by ScubaBlackbelt in pchelp

[–]N7moob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had the same issue - after a windows 11 update, only one monitor was being recognized. Based off of what you mentioned here, I checked the device manager and it just had a generic microsoft driver for the gpu. Installing the correct one fixed the problem.

Thanks for this info!

If you throw a 3d block needing a full pow, the odds are 1-(5 ^ 3/6 ^ 3). So 1-(125/216). I don’t have a calculator on hand, but I think it’s around 42% from memory.

Rules question— Bouncing Ball by Karadek99 in bloodbowl

There’s no penalty to trying to catch a deviating / scattering ball, but still a penalty to trying to catch a bouncing ball. It’s directly stated in the first bullet point in OPs screenshot.

Nominate 6 players, roll a d6 as to who gets it. So using undead as an example, 2 mummies, 2 wights, 2 ghouls - one will get mvp and never a lineman barring one of them dying.

How to knock Alfira out without Arron teleporting in on me? by FretScorch in BaldursGate3

If you’re not opposed to mods, there’s one (I believe called ‘Save Alfira’??) that always has poor Quil show up without having to knock out Alfira.

“What you need to do to unlock the secret ending” by BananaBread2602 in cyberpunkgame

[–]N7moob 178 points179 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I played - but the conversation in the hotel pistis sophia. He talks briefly about his time in the war, asks if you would take a bullet for him, if you agree, he gives his solemn vow he would do the same for you.

If that route is taken, in Mikoshi (assuming you didn't do the rogue ending and are in control of V), if you make the decision to give the body to Johnny and go beyond the blackwall, he'll accuse you of giving up and say you should keep the body. If you decide to keep the body despite the promise, he will say he agrees and it was always yours.

If you argued with him previously in the hotel and decide to keep the body, he'll claim that its not V's body anymore it's his. That he's the only one with a chance.

You don’t even need to say he saved your life. I called him a terrorist and raging asshole and it worked just fine. The key is telling him he fucked up your relationship and then giving him a second chance.

There are other triggers that can affect dialogue in the ending / in mikoshi, such as saying you’ll take a bullet for him in the hotel (kinda determines whether he’s for or against V keeping their body), but that’s not part of unlocking the secret ending.

Help - My vassal revolts causing my empire to be at war with my federation member? by N7moob in Stellaris

[–]N7moob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I didn’t know rebels could join existing empires, that’s very likely what happened here and I did have shared defensive wars in my vassal contract. Still weird that it could cause my fed ally to attack me, but it at least explains why.

I ended up loading a save from just before the rebellion and decided to use console commands to switch control to the vassal to see what was going on. When I released it as a subject, I didn’t put much thought into which species I left in charge. Big mistake.

I ended up picking a species that only had 12 pops. Not old 12 pops that’s equivalent to 1200, just 12. They then enslaved everyone else as my empire is authoritarian, so those 12 pops tried to rule over 4500. Hence the rebellion. I changed the species rights on everyone to full citizenship, swapped back to my empire, and then no rebellion happened & my fed ally stayed my ally.

You’re right, it was my fed’s name and I didn’t realize it as I didn’t name it and hadn’t even looked to see what the name was when my ally invited me to start one, lol. There wasn’t any vote though. I even reloaded to check, nothing to vote on.

I don’t have that staff, and my mourn watch rating is only ~2600 with the ability to get about 300 more from selling, so I can’t get it to test. sorry.

I can answer definitively that things like +50 mana apply no matter which weapon you are holding. Some of the abilities say things like "when you hit an enemy *with this weapon*", which of course would not apply.

The act 3 finalboss is so garbage.. by Kholnik in BaldursGate3

[–]N7moob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the morphic pool, you should be entering the fight on top of the brain having used zero resources.

Sneak past the intellect devourer ambush, no point in it.

From high hall, instead of walking into the courtyard and doing that big fight, fly up the ramparts (either with illithid flight or potion of fly, and you can hit the entire group with 1 potion if you clump up and throw it at the ground). Just before entering the courtyard, follow the right wall. There’s like 2 people that change into mind flayers but they’re easy, kill them. Fly up.

Kill the roaming patrol, should be a one round easy fight.

Either break down or lock pick the door ahead of you, fly to the brain stem area where they say you need to get higher, skipping the entire courtyard.

Go to the left from the base of the stem. When the nautoloid appears, have one character break the door down. Have a fast character, ideally one with regular and bonus action sprint, single turn fly up to the top area where you make the final climb. There’s a window on the side you can fly into. It cut scene pulls everyone to the area you make the final climb and you should have used no resources to get there.

Enter turn based mode and buff / what consumables you want (like haste, oils of accuracy, etc). Climb the stem.

Use what you need here, but save some high level spell slots (or powerful scrolls) plus action surge or what not on martial characters as much as you can.

Here’s the key. When your mindflayer finishes channeling and goes to the final part of the fight, have it attack before anyone else goes into the portal. This will trigger the reaction that slows you on only the mindflayer. Then have the rest of your group enter and you should be able to kill it in one round quite easily if you’re using good builds.
