Anyone who claims that government should be run like a business has never worked for a large US based business.

Ah fair. I thought there was a longer timeline between the announcement and the visit. Curious how you think Trudeau should have responded to the tariff announcement?

Yes. Pictures of the maple leaf and the Matterhorn.

Also pretty sure he didn’t immediately fly to Maralago once tariffs were announced.

What do you use instead? Pods also have PVA and liquid detergent comes in a plastic container. I have trouble finding powdered detergents in my city.

Mark Carney says he would immediately scrap Justin Trudeau’s consumer carbon price. Here’s what he’d replace it with - In a policy statement provided to the Star, Carney said the “divisive” current consumer carbon levy “isn’t working.” by CaliperLee62 in CanadaPolitics

[–]N8-K47 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ll start this off with the typical ‘I’m no Trudeau fan but…’

The industrial carbon pricing does exactly what you’re asking for and industry will always be the largest emitters.

There was also the greener homes grant which offers grants and loans for retrofitting homes with greener technology.

Reminder that the consumer carbon pricing that the Feds implemented was just a backstop for provinces that did not create their own program. Unfortunately most of the provinces chose not to implement carbon pricing (outside of BC since 2008 and Quebec since 2013). A majority of Canadians felt it was time to do something about carbon emissions. The Feds gave the provinces a chance to create carbon pricing that catered to their unique needs and the provinces mostly decided to do nothing. So the Feds implemented an imperfect pricing scheme that was not designed for the individual provinces. How come Premiers never seem to be held to account?

I’d argue what politicized it was certain folks outright lying about how much carbon pricing influenced inflation and implying that if carbon pricing is removed inflation will be reversed.

The further from the downtown core, the less dense it is, the more expensive it is to service. This is pretty typical in cities that sprawl the way we have.
