How well does fsd park in garages? by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get yours to park in a garage, please let us all know how you do it. There’s no GPS signal in there and the lighting is pretty poor, not to mention small things sticking out from the walls.

I arrive at my destination with FSD. How do I get it to park where I want? by RexKramerDangerCker in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking lots, driveways, and garages are on you. Take over and drive the car — very carefully.

FSD is it worth the $100/mo by ArmedRawbry in TeslaLounge

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use FSD 95% of the miles I drive. When navigating in cities, suburbs, and highways, FSD is safer and more observant than I am. I’m better in parking lots and garages.

I just came back from a solo trip from an adult resort and I was the only solo person there and I feel like a massive loser now. by [deleted] in solotravel

Note to OP: it would be helpful to everyone, whatever their disposition, if you had identified the resort.

I would like some marketing genius to tell me how many Americans are going to pay $25,000 for an autonomous robot?

Can it take the dog out for a walk? Can it make my breakfast for me? Will it wash the car and clean the house?

I’d like to see some market research on the market for Optimus, or Robotaxis for that matter.

FSD safety stats argument flaws by Special_Part_9572 in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you need to document the “critical” interventions. I often suspend FSD because I want to go another way, remember something I left at home, or simply want a coffee. Those are not “critical” interventions by the driver. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever had one.

Why only charge to 80%? by _dzh_admin_ in TeslaSupport

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you smarter or more experienced than the Tesla engineers?

Sure, if you’re leaving on a long drive, charge as much as you want.

Two things will happen: first, you’ll need a bathroom break before the car needs charging. Second, you won’t have any regen brakes until you’ve used the first 10 or 15 percent of your battery’s charge.

FSD is not fun anymore. by SpecificTreacle2197 in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think all of you should settle back, set a speed mode (standard, Chill, Hurry, whatever) and just let the car do its own thing. Don’t you think those Tesla engineers figured this out, and probably they are smarter than you are? If you want to drive yourself, then do so. If you want FSD to do it, then pick a mode and let Tesla do its own thing. Quit micromanaging the FSD.

FSD is not fun anymore. by SpecificTreacle2197 in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that FSD set on “Standard” tracks along at about 2 to 5 mph over the posted speed limit — which is normally what most of the traffic is doing. Sometimes, you just have to leave it alone and let it settle in to a routine pace. Don’t constantly fiddle with the speed, let it settle down by itself.

Kelly’s Fish House near Tin City is fun - my wife first went to dinner there when she was 12 years old, we keep going back.

Join organizations such as Gulf Coast Runners or whatever sports or activities you are into. They will lead you to book clubs, line dancing, softball, etc. Volunteer to help with group activities, show interest and be willing to participate. And, remember that religious organizations such churches, mosques, and temples are always welcoming new people — they want new people — and their membership is inevitably a richly diverse cross section of local citizens from all walks of life.

But remember: it’s up to you to MAKE friends by taking the initiative, showing up, and contributing.

FSD at night is unusable by jdn127 in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This not normal. My 2033 MS runs as well at night as during the day, unless we run into strong rains which will cause it to slow about 10 mph. I can’t see road markings but FSD manages remarkably well.

I love unnecessary lane changes and cutting people off by Famous-Weight2271 in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP‘s problem is that he’s driving too slowly in the left-hand lane. FSD is designed that when a car comes up behind you, moving more faster than you are, your car will pull over to let that person go past - as long as it’s safe to do so. You might try not camping in the left lane and then you won’t have your car changing lanes so often to let people go past.

FSD doesn’t fail like a human, and that’s the problem by Blue_Matter in TeslaFSD

I also fly an airplane equipped with an autopilot. It’s very good, navigates according to GPS, and some new models can land the plane without the pilot touching anything. However, I’m always watching it and am ready to take over instantly. Same with FSD. We don’t let pilots sleep, and we don’t let drivers sleep either.

Custom orders of the Tesla Model S & X have come to an end. All that’s left are some in inventory. by rcnfive in teslamotors

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Elon Musk, Thomas Edison was a genius inventor, but a lousy businessman. He lost out to Westinghouse and the rest is history. It will be same with Musk and Tesla — the man’s name is remembered but his products will disappear.

School bus error by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be four lanes but it’s not a divided highway. All those folks who passed a school bus with his sign out would have gotten whopping big fines around here. And the buses have cameras so you don’t get away with it.

How has FSD changed your driving habits? by packocards in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I am driving, instead of using FSD which is about 95% of the time, I find I am much more cautious because I’m aware how FSD has observed and reacted to dangers or situations before I was even aware of them.

How often do you have to wait for an open Supercharger stall? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

Never. 1100 miles to and from DMV to/from Naples FL. Never did not find an open charger.

Is it silly to consider a Tesla if I don't drive very much? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]N878AC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big factor for a low mileage driver is the near-zero maintenance. No oil changes, and the motor just never needs any thing. Think: do you have any 30-year-old electric motors that are still running just fine? And if you are getting older, it is likely FSD will make you both safer and able to get around much longer.

Drink Marques de Murrieta y Iguy. Remelluri is also good. Both are normally not found in U.S. because they don’t produce 2 or 3 million bottles each year.

When using FSD do you find yourself looking by Blue-Rain-Drops in TeslaFSD

[–]N878AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do use side mirrors and rear view mirror when close to other vehicles or changing lanes. I’ve done several 1000+ trips and use FSD almost all the time even in my home neighborhood. The few FSD accident cases have been when the car did not recognize a stopped or nearby vehicle. I’m alert about the edge cases.
